The City Gates are huge and richly carved, with two stone pillars reaching for the sky and a guard stationed at the top of each, one glaring menacingly and the other smiling at each and every traveller to come to the city. This is most likely where you will take your first steps into the city, and whatever you are feeling, you are about to step into the country's capital.

Rose had watched the gates growing in size as the city came nearer. Now they towered infront of her. Whisper stepped back slightly, he seemed scared by these huge gates. Rose did feel scared, as much as in awe of the two giant pillars. Even though the gates were high above her head, she still ducked slightly as she walked through them, eager to get her first real glimpse of the city. Her stomach growled so she turned back to her companions, "Perhaps you could show me where I could keep my horse, and get something to eat..."

"Of course!" Brynna said delightedly. For them most part the Lady found it difficult to open up to people, but these two were so easy-going... it was more difficult not to talk to them!
She looked up at the gates. Having always re-entered the city on horseback, she'd never relly stopped to just look at the gates. She winced as she saw one guard glowering at her, although the other was smiling. A giant crest rested atop two pillars, and Brynna greatly admired the architecture.
"Perhaps you would join me for something to eat first?" She suggested. "It's getting late, and I could always give you a tour tommorrow..?"

Cien almost sighed aloud. The feeling she always had when she entered a new city had come again. Puru-puru sensed it and nudged her gently. "Hm." she whispered softly, "It feels a bit further away from home every time, doesn't it?"
She smiled and patted Puru-puru. "So this is Calamere. What an impressive city." She turned and bowed to the Lady. "Thank you for your hospitality. We would be glad to join you, if you would show the way."

"Of course." Brynna smiled. "I suggest we go to The Golden Gorse - it is the finest place to eat in Calamere!"
Returning Whisper to Rose, and thanking her as she did so, she walked in through the city gates, wincing as the cuts on her feet gave a painful twinge.
"Just follow me..." She said, and she made her way along the streets of Calamere and into the city...
(OOC: I've continued in The Golden Gorse, if you want to join me there!)

As Cody and his companions(Cien and Dahrin) got close to the city gates he turned to Cien. "So Cien what is your gift? I can tell you have gift one dealing with your mind?" Cody grinned at the guards as they watched travelers and merchants walk through the gates

"A gift?" Cien smiled. "Not really. Just a skill actually. Something I learned to use in daily life. Mind reading." Puru-puru whimpered as she continued. "You don't have to worry though, about me knowing all your innermost secrets. I sealed my own power a long time ago, now it only come out bit by bit, through this," she held out an eyeglass, "and it depends on which one I use."

That caught Darhin's intrest, "How many eyeglasses do you have? And is mind reading all you can do? Isn't there prophecying and telekinesis that Thought-Mages can do?" They were walking through the streets now, and very few people were out, but those who were out were giving them strange looks, which made sense counting that you don't see a yong girl with a strange animal on her shoulder, a man with long white hair and odd tattoos and a peasant talking to the lady as if they were equals even though she was far above him in stature.

"How many?" Cien almost laughed. "That's a good question. I honestly don't know, myself. It accumulates. The more power I am able to control, the more I can release and the more eyeglasses I have. The number grows."
She rubbed Puru-puru and it purred contentedly. "Prophesy is not really one of the abilities of a Thought-mage. There are some who can do it, but it is more related to other skills, like stargazing and astronomy. While it IS fun, it can be potentially dangerous, especially where the fate of a country is at stake. As for telekinesis...," this time she really laughed, " it is possible, but not preferable, since converting mind-energy to physical energy is exhausting both ways. Most thought-mages don't train in that aspect, since it requires both physical and mental strength."

Cody smiled as Cien talked. He watched as many people turned to stare at him. He was quite aware that he towered over most people. His white hair was also noticable but it was his tatoos and armour that made him truely stand out. But it didn't bother him. He liked it. "Dahrin are you interested in learning the ways of warcraft? I would be willing to teach you?"

Darhin smiled, realizing it was becoming much more common, "Well actually..." How could he explain...he already knew how to fight, not with axes or hammers, but with swords. But it had been many years since then, and he had never held a weapon since he left from his homeland. But it would be nice to relearn, especially since a war was coming, "that sounds great. Maybe once were at the Castle we can work in the fencing room, I hear there's one in the palace."

Cody grinned, Dahrin had obvisouly been trained by "Professionals". Dahrin had was keeping more secrets then the fact he was an Elemental and he was Thernian. "Fencing room? No a warrior should learn in the wild, where the ground is not steady, where the battlles will take place. Don't worry we will talk later about such things."

Darhin looked up, surpised to see they were already standing in front of the Castle. Wow, who knew talking could speed up the time? Turning to the others he said, "Well looks like were here, lets go inside before nightfall." He didn't like staying in the streets when the sun was down...it was just creppy, and everyone knows that the worse types of people come out in the streets at night.
(K, thats it, were start this up agian in the Castle, good luck on the exams Cien!)
