Many circles of large, comfortable chairs are gathered around numerous fires. A man hovers, waiting to bring through any drinks that the guests might want. This is obviously a place for talking and enjoying yourself, and the atmosphere is a friendly one. The quiet hum of voices is all that can be heard, save for the gentle snores of one short woman in the corner of the room. Children are playing at one end of the room, tall bookcases line the walls, and you find yourself feeling inexplicably happy.

((ooc: First posters....awkward... >_>)) Karei lead Darhin into the room, thankful that she was able to remember where the room was. It was currently empty, due to the fact that everyone was probably at the ball. She let go of him, smirking. kar glanced around, smiling softly at the pleasant comfort of the room. She walked over to a seat close t the fire place and sat down. ''Well...we're here. What do you want to talk about?'' She asked, looking over at him.

He sat down, "I don't know," He started thinking and came to a good topic, "What was your childhood like? Do you get to see your parents often?" The fire was a warm one, and he felt himself begin to get comfortable. It was empty, but yet the room felt alive. He smiled slightly, he couldn't help but feel happy.

Karei bit her lip at the question, turning her gze to the fire. ''I kind of had two childhoods...my parents died when I was eight and most of that time they were raising my to be a lady of nobility. They planned to marry me off to someone with money when I came of age. After they died a farmer took me in and I spent the rest of my childhood there. It's kind of strange...I had friends and some wealth with my parents but I was happier when I lived with the farmer.'' She chuckled, reaching up and lightly untying her hair from the bun. It had been getting annoying adn she barely realized herself pulling the ribbon out. ''What about you?'' Kar asked, a bit hesitantly. She was unsure if he would tell her, but asked anyways.

He hesitated for a second, but decided to tell her the gist of it, only lying here or there, "I was born outside of the Golden Land, in a foreign country, I was happy there, for a while. But then one day I was accused of a crime I had no control over," True enough his mind told him, "and I had to leave my homeland. I traveled thorough the wilderness until I stumbled upon the Golden Lands, thats when I found the Silver Drake Inn, and became an stable boy." He looked at the fire, it was dying out now, so he bent over and picked up a log from the pile next to the fire and threw it in. The fire blazed back to life, and Darhin watched the embers dance to and fro.

Karei nodded, not prying further. Though she was curious as to what sort of crime he was talking about and how he couldn't have control over it. Shrugging it off she turned her gaze back to the fire. ''Do you like your life here?'' She asked curiously, pulling the flower out from behind her ear and blinking at it, as if just remembering about it. She twirled it in her hand absently, glancing up at him to await his response.

Darhin looked at the flower and smiled, "Yes I quite enjoy it," He leaned back in his chair and looked at Karei curiously, "What about you? Do you enjoy wandering...don't you ever want a home?"

Karei chuckled at the question. ''I'll admit that sometimes I miss my home. The farm, that is. But since I've been traveling I get too restless. If I stay anywhere for more than a day I think I start to go crazy with my fidgeting.'' She replied, leaning forward a bit with one arm resting in her lap, her opposite elbow on her kne and her chin resting in her hand (flower in the opposite hand of course).

"Its the opposite for me..." Darhin admited, "I have been living in this city for six years, and I hadn't even traveled to Elidwen before I met you, when I went there I was seeing new stuff for the first time. To tell you the truth, I want to see more of what this world has to offer." He smiled as he looked out the side window, showing the twilinking stars above.

''I've never traveled very far. Not far from the Golden Lands to tell you the truth. I don't know why...fear maybe or just that I don't want to leave.'' Kar shrugged one shoulder and chuckled, staring at the fire absently.

"I know what you mean, it is unwise to travel to foreign lands during this time. Especially considering how Rael and Tern are in war with us. Still there is more then enough to see here." She was still holding onto that flower. He smiled, at her as she watched the fire.

''Yea, I've yet to see the enitre country and I've been travling for years.'' Karei smiled, glancing over at him with a slight smile. ''I wouldn't mind seeing it all. But I do want to settled down and rest for a month or so. I'm sure Arai does, too.''

"Well your welcome to stay at the Silver Drake whenever you want, and I'll be happy to take care of Arai for you." He said hoping she'll take up the offer. He would like to have her around as company, she was a great person to talk to.

Karei smiled and nodded. ''Yea. I think that would be nice.'' She replied with a smile. She looked out the window, once more twirling the flower between her fingers to keep her hands occupied.

Darhin outstreched his hand, clasping over hers, and held the flower's stem between his two fingers, with a slight smirk he said, "I'm glad you like it, I said I thought it suited you, and I meant it." He looked into her eyes, and smiled, "I'm really glad I decided to come, I'm having a lot of fun here with you Karei." He said truthfully.

Kar blinked, freezing a bit. She felt her face redden and quickly hid it. Smiling she nodded a bit. ''Yea, same here.'' She said, glancing down at the flower. ''So how does it suit me?'' Kar asked with a slight smirk, once more moving her gaze back to his face.

Darhin smiled, "Its beautiful...just as you are," He was shocked he said that, but he was feeling very bold, so he decided to continue anyways, "And it is the same shade as your eyes, and brings out their depth." He said staring into her eyes.

Karei blinked in surprise, her blush deepening a few shades. She felt her mouth move, but couldn't find her voice for a moment. Kar quickly regained herself and smiled softly. ''Thanks...I suppose this is a bit of an improvement from how I usually look.'' She said with a light chuckle, brushing her free hand through her hair lightly.

"I wasn't just talking about the dress Karei," Darhin said, feeling more bold and daring then he had before. "You've always been beautiful, its the truth." He blushed as he said this, his eyes looking away for a moment. He wasn't sure what he was saying, but the words seemed to come out before he could stop them...he hoped he hadn't offended her with his forwardness.

Karei was beginning to wonder if there was a shade of red that was darker than her face already was. She wasn't sure what to say or how to react. She had never really focused on ehr looks or even thought about it - she was usually too busy with her travels. After a moment - in her mind hours - she smiled. ''Sorry...I'm not really used to compliments.'' She said shyly, biting down her bottom lip and glancing down at the flower again.
