Even the "Keeper of the Peace" King realises that every Kingdom needs an Army, if just to defend itself against would-be conquerors.Set near to the end of the Castle Grounds, the Army Headquarters is the place where meetings and discussions involving anything to do with the Army take place. An old stone building, undecorated and plain, the only thing to make this building look any different from any other is the Castle’s coat-or-arms which hangs above the entrance to the Headquarters. A small notice hangs by the door, reading: ‘The Calamere Army Headquarters, established 1079’.
The basis of the Army is simple: you request to join a divsion, and you are automatically accepted by the Division Commander. There are four different divisions: the Swordsmen; the Archers and Javelinmen; the Axemen; and the Cavalry. You are expected to post at least once every two weeks in the training grounds, taking part in whichever training exercise or mission your division is currently on. Depending on how often you post and on the quality of your posts, you may be promoted by the division Commander to Captain, Major, or Second-in-Command. All questions about matters to do with the Army go to your division Commander.
Now that you have read and (hopefully) understand the rules regarding the Army, you should know what business you have here. Whether you have come to request that you may join the army, or if you are already a member and are just stopping by to check what news is around involving the army, or if you are informing the division Commanders of some thing regarding the army, or even if you are just here to look around and find out more about the force that guards the Golden Lands, all of your questions and suggestions relating to the Army should be posted here. Permission to join a division can only be approved by the Commander of your chosen division (Until Commanders have been appointed, the King will accept requests to join. Requests to join as a division Commander are also accepted at this time, on the understanding that you will be expected to be the most frequent-posting and a susbstantial part of your division). Training takes place in the Training Grounds.

Arikain stepped into the HQ, his head pounding like the drums of battle. he'd felt a dark feeling, a strange threat growing in his mind these last few weeks, as if his kingdom was in danger. Now he intended to fight for what he believed in - and hoefully make his headache disappear.
"Please," he announced, "I wish to request that I become a Cavalryman. I have a broadsword, and a good horse of my own. I now wish to learn how to better my skill on the battlefield. I hope that my request is accepted, for i believe I could be of service to your and your Kingdom, you majesty." He bowed down low, and waited for His Highness to reply.

"Arikain," the King smiled, his face creasing where lines of worry had been etchedin, "I happily accept you into the ranks of your army. May you train long and hard, and may you find success in battle. But please... try to keep the peace where it is possible. Kill none where it is uneccessary."
Nodding to the man to go, the King tiredly sank into his chair,. What he needed was for his daughter to marry, so that he would have an heir at least... He sometimes found it difficult to keep up with the youths, so keen to go into battle. But at least his kingdom would stay strong.

"You Royal Highness... Thankyou." Overjoyed at being accepted as a Cavalryman, Arikain bowed lower still, and then rushed out of the HeadQuarters. He intended to go straight to the Training Grounds where he could begin his training regime. It was so long since he had trained properly, and he felt out of practise. Now he would show those in the army what he could do...

Khorren wandered up to the HQ door. She had an ancient scroll-type map held out a little way infront of her and seemed to be studying it carefully. A tiny demon-like creature sat on her shoulder, peering at the map intensely as if it was reading it too. Khorren looked up from the map at the coat of arms hanging over the building's door and then looked back down at the map. She rolled it back up and reached over her back to push the map back into her bag. "This is the place!" she exclaimed eagerly, smiling and looking at the demon who grinned back. She walked closer to the door and knocked, not entirely sure what kind of etiquette to use around such a place... to treat it like a home.. or a shop? She didn't know. When she heard no reply, she tried the handle and pushed the door open gently.
A spectacular room opened up before her. It wasn't the architecture that made the room seem grand, but rather the feeling that lingered within it. There were coats of arms all over the walls and there was an inate pride about the place.
There was a desk with a register and pens on it, but it wasn't occupied. There was, however, a passageway leading away to the right. She peered down it and, not seeing anything, called, "Hello? I'd like to sign up for the army?" down it.

"Hello?" The King hastily poked his head out from the store cupboard in which he had been polishing his treasured sword. "Ah! A new recruit!" He smiled happily, always glad to see someone taking an interest in the Kingdom. Wiping bits of polish form his hands and carefully replacing his sword in the armoury, he turned to face the nwecomer. A girl, she looked fairly strong and wielded a sword. "So which division were you intersted in joining?" He asked her,.

"Ah!" Khorren stood back, startled not only because this man had seemingly appeared from a cupboard, but because he was quite clearly the king himself. "Y.. Your majesty.." she said, wondering what to say and bowing slightly. He seemed like a very nice king. "I'd like to be a swordsma.. er.. woman." she said, dipping her head again.

"Then I welcome you into the ranks of the Swordsmen division." The King smiled, gesturing for Khorren to rise from her bowing position. "As of now you may begin your training in the Division. After you have attained the top ranking, you may be considered for a division commander, if you wish. I'm very pleased to see you here!"

Khorren, face lighting up, thanked the king, wrote her name down on the register on the desk and dashed off to start training immediately, Kianu clinging to her shoulder desperately.

Laedra ran in a little after KLhorren exited the Army HQ, holding on tightly to her little furry squirrel-creature and whooping as the wind rushed by her. Skidding breathelssly to a halt outside the Head Quarters and ignoring her wildly tousled hair and flushed cheeks, she unabashedly entered the building. She knew it was rare for a Raeyn to enter the ranks of the King's Army... But then again... She was hardly the conventional type.
"Your Majesty." She bowed down low, her hands brushing old bits of grass frmo her tights as she did so. "Please, Sir, my name is Laedra, and I have come to request that I might join the Archers' Division. I promise you, I will train hard and not let this Kingdom down!"
Staying down and only risking a quick look at the reining monarch, Laedra shifted about as she waited to hear the King's response.

Cody Evans walked in his massive form taking up the doorway. The guards were startled at first by his massive frame and frigteningly large great-hammer that he carried on his back but settled down when he smiled his million dollar grin at them. He walked over the to the front desk and layed his huge hammer on it. "The King has sent me over here. He desires me to join the ranks of his army. I don't know exactly which division I must join, because I wield a great-hammer. I am also interested in the Division Commander position, I believe with my ability and leadership skills, not to mention that I have been in three wars, and numerous engagments that I am fit leader." The desk clerk just stared...then suddenly seemed to snap out of staring up at the 6'4 white haired tattooed behometh. "Ummm...the King is actually addressing all concerns right now if you wanna step into the war room and talk to him." Cody eyed the scrawny desk clerk. "Thank you, I will." Cody said rather curtly.
Cody walked down the hall towards a guarded room. He passed several officers and soldiers, they turned and stared as he past by. They quickly began to whisper among themselves. Cody pushed the doors upon without even asking the guards. The King was seen standing study several maps and charts. "My Lord. I have come to join the ranks of your army. But I don't seem to fit in within a certain division because of the weapon I wield. I am also interested in the Divison Commander position my lord. I believe with my past...experiences I am more than qualified for the position."

The King looked up from his paperwork, and, pushing a large and ornate map to one side, he smiled, happily surprised to see two more recruits stading in front of him. "Good morning," He said beatifically. "I'm pleased to see you both here. Cody, if you'll wait a moment please allow me to deal with Laedra's request first."
Turning to the ligt girl, he began, "Forgive me, Laedra, for any misapprehension I may have had when first meeting you at the ball. I can see now that you will make a fine archer! Feel free to begin training when you wish. Thankyou." Nodding to her to take her leave, he turned his attention to the slightly mroe complicated issue of Cody Evans.
He frowned, unsure how to address this issue; he had never worked with a member of the Tribe of Collossus beforem and if truth be told he was unsure how to handle it. "Cody," The King sais, after a long pause, "I have several options for you. The first is that you join any of these divisions - preferably one you are happy to fight with - but continue to use your hammer in times of war. The second is that you join the ranks of the axemen. This may not seem so appealing at first, but please, allow me to explain. Before you become a division Commander, I ask that you first attain the rank of Elite within that division. ((To do this you just make four posts in the Training Grounds, of four hundred words each. In your case I know you're a good RPer, but generally speaking this is just to check the quality of the posts people are making)) If you were to attain the rank of Elite in the axemen,I would be happy for you to become Commander and then to incorporate training others to use a hammer - so the 'Axemen' would become 'Axemen and Wielders of Stronghammers', or whatever you would call it."
The King paused, hoping what he was saying made sense. "Of course, if you are willing to fight without your hammer in any other division, once you have reached the elite status I would be happy for you to become the Commander of any division." He smiled. "So, what would you like to do?"

Cody nodded he understood. "My liege I will then join the Axemen. And I promise you will see the Elite in me. Thank you for this chance my Liege." Cody Evans pushed aside some of his white hair as he waited for the King's response.

"Excellent" The King clapped his hands together. "In which case, I think we have a fine division Commander on the way!! I look forward to seeing you train hard. You now have room and board at the castle - as do all members of the army. Good luck with your training!"

Cody kneeled quickly, thanking the King, he turned and left the war room. Train? Cody chuckled to himself. Sure I guess I could "train". After almost fourteen years battling the armies of Thern and Rael, and more recently The Circle(a group of Assasains sent to kill Cody) he had the confidence and skill that would simply surpass most veterans. But if the King demanded he train he would. He would show the King why he desevered to be Commander if not a General.
