"Why... how could you accuse me of such treachory?!" Rogan yelled without lifting his head from his hands. "The things you are saying... I have ALWAYS stood by you Kai, ALWAYS! In times of trouble, I have always provided you with light entertainment! I have got you out of countless troublesome situations - that you have managed to get us into - helped you to meet young and attractive women... And this is the thanks I get?!"
Rogan shook his head in disgust.
"Rogan... Rogan answer me!" Kai said.
"Well... Yes I did..." Rogan said, before another wave of nausea overcame him and, groaning inwardly, he put his head between his knees in the hope that the feeling would pass.

Kai gave Rogan a dissaproving look. He apologised to the people he was about to serve and told them he'd be right back. He sat opposite Rogan. "You're right you have stood by me....but if you tell me now that you used my money then I won't be so angry. I may not toss you out of the window!" Said Kai smiling calmly. "After all like you said we've known each other so long why not steal my money whever you need it?" He heard Rogan mutter that he had stolen his money. His calm demeanour vanished and was replaced with a stormy look. "YOU ACTUALLY STOLE MY MONEY!!! YOU ACTUALLY STOLE THE MONEY I WORKED TO GET??!!!" breathing deeply he smiled sweetly at Rogan before whacking his head "Anything else you'd like to tell me now?"

Brynna giggled nervously as the waiter went over to his drunken friend in a near fury. "Things are never boring in the city!" She said cheerily. "But I've missed you. Things grew ever so lonely after you left!" Licking dry lips as she waited for her drink, she smiled affectionately at her cousin. "So how was life at Port Mayya? I can't imagine it was very exciting after having lived in the city for most of your childhood.... Once you left, they started trying to mould me into a lady." She shook her head. "It was never going to happen after roaming the streets for so long. I mean, I don't mind acting the part of the noble... But it gets so dull after a while. Now they're trying to send me to live at the palace... but mybe I could come and stay with you?" She looked hopefully at her cousin, desperate for him to offer her a way out. She hadn't been ome for several days now, and she knew she coudn't stay away for much longer.

"That's.... sad." Arikain finished lamely. He cast a wary glance over at the drunken man in the corner. He hoped there wouldn't be any trouble... "I can't imagine you as a lady! Although you look all grown up!" He said playfully. looking at her long dress and heels. "Port Mayya is... well, it was a little dull. But it gave me a place away from it all... fresh air, wide open spaces like you;ve never seen. It gave me the opportunity to practise my swordsmanship, and now I've enrolled in the army!"
He leaned back and stretched out. He was kinda thirsty.... "Um, excuse me?" He called to the barmiad; the waiter ws obviously busy. "Could you get me an ale and a drink for my cousin here?" He looked back at Brynna, a half-smile playing around his lips. "Anyway, now I'm back!And.. well, I'd love for you to come and stay with me and normally I'd say yes, but I'm actualyl staying in the palace." He said awkwardly. "And besides, I've already offered my spare room to Rose, if she needs it! I hope she's OK..."

"I know it's silly to think of me all dressed up!" Brynna laughed. "Oh, I'd love a glass of rosewater please." She looked at Arikain as if through new eyes. He was the same serious cousin he;d always been.... But there was something lighter about him this time, more relaxed. "Well, Port Mayya doesn't sound very interesting. How dull!"
Her face then fell when she heard of Arikain's plans to come and stay at the Palace. "Well, at least I'll have you to talk to!" She tried not to look too crest-fallen. He had been her last chance. "And yes, I hope Rose is OK."

"I'm sure she's fine." Arikain said a little more confidently. "But,... I wouldn't worry too much about the palace, Brynna. I know you can't seem to help worrying! but don't. The palace isnt a prison... I promise you, you'kll be fine! nd you will have me there. And you'll make friends in the palace! And..." Realising that perhaps he was rambling, Kain stopped.
"I tell you what, why don't we agree to meet up at least every other day? That wasy we can keep each other company, and if anyone tries to keep you there... I'll sort them out!" He joked, winking.

Barnabas Beazly walked through the doors of one of the more popular bars in the city, plenty of people, plenty of drinks. A lovely young lass welcomed him inside "Well thank you my dear." He gave her a wink and swivled on his back foot as a dart was flung just barely under his nose at a nearby dartboard. "Almost got me there!" he smiled at the marksman. Bumbling up to a table he sat down and looked around. There was plenty of drinking going on, but he didn't see a server anywhere.

Cien stood, silently staring at Puru-puru, who was engaged in one of its toughest battles...with a riceball. It started by licking first a corner, then chewing on another corner, and then bit on yet ANOTHER corner. Finally, it buried itself mouth-first in the middle of the riceball and tried to chew its way through. When that didn't work, it bouced up with determination and proceeded to ngaw on the first corner again...and repeated the whole process. Cien sighed as she watched it tug on the seaweed wrapping on the riceball with happy purring noises. Rubbing the back of her neck, her mouth curled into a small smile as Puru-puru accidentally flipped the riceball over onto itself. Covered in grains of sticky rice, it tried to lick itself clean, not succeeding in the least. Cien took out a piece of cloth and grasped Puru-puru in one hand and the riceball in another before looking for a place to sit while she did some damage control. There did not seem to be any empty tables, so Cien walked up to the emptiest and addressed the lone man who was sitting there, "Excuse me, may I have a seat here?"

Still not getting any service Barnabas took to looking around the bar at the various interesting people. The dart throwers were still going at it, several others were playing a game of poker, and another smaller group was just sitting talking. Near the door way Barnabas noticed a small creature playing with some kind of ball, while the apparent owner just stood and watched. She? He? The owners head was covered and he couldn't see, but she eventually picked up the animal and walked to his table looking to sit down. Figuring out that the owner was female from her voice, he happily waved her to sit down. "Hello dear, name's Barnabas, please sit down. Can I get you something to drink?" Barnabas finally decided that it would probably be easier then waiting, to just approach the bar.

Cien shook her head. "No, thank you. I'm in a bit of a...sticky situation at the moment..." She glanced down at a riceball-occupied Puru-puru. She bit her left glove with her lips and slid it off her hand. Holding the riceball in the cloth in her other hand, she proceeded to seperate the vehemently protesting Puru-puru from it's past time. Noticing that her table companion was about to head over to the bar, she looked up. "Can you please request a bowl of water for me?"

"Absolutely my dear." Barnabas was playing it up, after all it had been awhile since a woman sat across a table from him, they all seemed scared of a drunk. Walking to the bar he glanced quickly at the various bottles "Hey there barkeep, can I get a....a bottle of mead, your finest, and the young lady over at my table would like a bowl of water." The barkeep eyed him, then with a shrug of his shoulders quickly got the order. Before Barnabas went back to his table he looked at the barkeep "Did anyone ever tell you that your face looks like the face of man after he's been hanged?" The barkeep glared at him, feeling indignant. "No? Well you do." and with that Barnabas spun around and headed back to the table, spilling a little water here and there. "Here you go my dear, though I must say I've never known anyone to drink water from a bowl." Before she could say a word Barnabas took a swig of mead and said "You know you're very preetty... youv got eyez like walnuts." his speech instantly slurring.

Cien eyed him carefully. "The water is not for me, it is for Puru-puru..." She carefully dipped it into the bowl as she spoke, rubbing the sticky spots with her thumbs. "And..ah...thank you for the...compliment."

"Your velcome dear. You know I'm risch? Ya ma family lef me alll dis money and now I can enjoy it like a king." Barnabas continued to ramble to the clearly uninterested girl as she quickly tried to clean her pet (ooc: It is a pet right?). Apparently some men overheard his comment about being rich and decided the drunk codger would be perfect to get a few free drinks off of. "Hey there old man, hows about you buy us boys a few rounds? Then maybe this fine lass can show us what's under that hood eh?" The man leaned against the table and smiled a toothy grin at Cien. "Now wait jusst a minute sirr." Barnabas said as he woozily got up from the table "You can't jusst ask for drinks men..." He wasn't able to finish before the man said "Fine I'll just take it." and swung at Barnabas. Barnabas fell lazily out of the way, causing the hooligan to hit one of the others who had gathered at their table. One of the other men soccer kicked Barnabas in the ribs causing Barnabas to roll to the side into a chair. The chair then fell accrosse Barnabas, and as the man swung his foot again he kicked his shin into the top of the chair. The man who had been earlier punched by his friend started yelling and the three of them started fighting amongst each other.

(lolx, not really a PET so to speak, but it's okay to refer to it that way)
Cien calmly continued rubbing Puru-puru, at least, calmly considering the situation. What had started as a few off-hand insinutations had turned into a riotous bar brawl. Men were flinging punches in almost every direction, and even Cien was forced to duck more than once. Surprisingly, Barnabas did not seem to have any trouble avoiding the blows, as drunk as he seemed. 'Maybe there is more than meets the eye,' thought Cien.

Getting up off the floor, Barnabas picked up his chair and sat back down. "Well there miss.....uh, well I don't knows you name yet, but howss about we's get a few drinks to go eh? I don't think iss safe to sstay herre mucsh longer." As he said said that a bottle flew accross the room, bounced off the back of Barnabas' head and landed safely on the table "Ow....how lucky, we gots us an esxtra drink to go!" Barnabas picked up the bottle and thumbed toward the door. "Shall we?"

Cien raised an eyebrow as Barnabas walked off seemingly unaffected by the fact that he had just been hit on the head by a bottle. His former assailants, or at least, those that were still ali-...conscious, stared after him as if he had literally lost his head. Shrugging, Cien wrapped part of her cloak around the damp Puru-puru and followed after Barnabas. As they walked through the door, Cien paused. "Oh, by the way, my name is Cien, and this is Puru-puru. Pleased to meet you."

Rubbing the back of his head Barnabas looked at the damp, wrapped up Puru-puru "Not much to look at is it? Wells miss Cien the plesure iss all mine. Sso what broughts you to a place sucsh as the Golden Goarse eh? Couldn't be the ale, as you don'ts seem to have any. Were's you looking for someone?" Just then Barnabas tripped on a rock in the road and fell flat on his face. His face hurt, he knew that, but what he couldn't understand is why. Most times things like this had a purpose in his life....just then one of the assailants from the bar ran out of the alley Barnabas was lying in front of. The man tripped on Barnabas and fell to the ground, just as the bartender ran out and stopped just short of Barnabas. Picking Barnabas up off the ground, the bartender thanked him for helping catch the criminal and handed Barnabas two gold pieces as reward. "What a strange day." was all Barnabas could say.

Cien could only nod. At times like this, words seemed to fail her. They continued on in silence until Cien asked, "Are you alright? After the fight and the fall, I mean..." (Sorry for the long wait and the short post...I don't really know what to say )
