A jaunty stroll...

[Rogan]

Rogan winked slyly at a curvacious young woman as he strolled jauntily about the marketplace. Looking out of dark eyes, an impish grin rested upon his handsome face. Flinging his head back as he rested against a stall, he relished the hot sun against his face. I hope this deosn't tan. He thought sceptically.

He was waiting for his friend Kai, who had promised to meet him in the marketplace.
"Please," he said in a drolll tone to a passing maiden. He dropped to his knees. "Oh fair maiden! Never have I seen one with your beauty!" straightening up, he coughed and asked seriously, "Would you do the honour of bearing me a child?"

The girl looked quite frightened, but thankfully she was saved by the arrival of another figure...

[Kai]

Kai walked slowly up the cobbled street looking for Rogan. No doubt he was probably making a fool of himself, or asking someone to marry him. He saw Rogan asking a complete stranger to bear his child. Kai cringed and sighed. Rogan had never changed. Walking over he reached out for Rogans ear, as he usually punished him this way. He turned to the woman
"I'm most sorry for his behaviour sometimes he just can't contain himself. Please evacuate the vacinity."

[Rogan]

"Aaaahh-aaahh!!" Rogan yelped as Kai grabbed his ear and dragged him away from the beautiful young woman he had been 'seducing'. Freeing himself from his friend's grip, he straightened up.

"Forgive me," he bowed to the startled woman. "But I often forget myself. Now," he turned to Kai. "Please release me from your grip. It is quite painful. Excuse him," he said to the woman. "But my friend can be quite cruel at times. I try to bear it, but sometimes the pain is too much. And that is why I must ask you for a child."

Kai held Rogans ear and yanked once more before letting go. He was relieved to see that the woman starting to run off. She would be safer like that anyway. He turned to Rogan
"Rogan......do you have to ask every single girl thatr same question? Just leave them alone. Anyway what do you want to do now? Something normal preferably."
Kai looked around at the various stalls and shops. None of them really took his fancy. He noticed many children running together and laughing. His face fell briefly. When he was younger he had no-one to play with but his brother. Some how people found out about his elemental control over air. Rogan was his first real friend. He noticed a stall which took his fancy. A stall which sold rare objects. He walked over and looked at the variety of items. He noticed a familiar ring
"How much would this cost?"
"50 gold pieces." replied the seller bluntly.
"Never mind." He continued to browse before losing intrest and returnd to Rogan.

[Rogan]

Rogan sighed heavily. "My dear Kai, you know very well that I cannot tell you why I must have a child. You haveasked me at frequent intervals for the last four years now, and not once have I given you the slightest hope that I might tell you. Yet atill you continue to question me. Dear me... Oooh! That is a pretty ring - and that is a very pretty young girl..>" another young girl was alking in their direction. Smoothing back his hair and straightening out his robes, Rogan strode purposefully forwards in the direction of the female.

[Kai]

Kai noticed out of the corner of his eye Rogan heading for yet another girl. He stuck his foot out trying to trip him up. He waited to see if it worked whether it did or not he smiled as the image of Rogan falling over and landing at the girls feet amused him lots. Kai wanted to move on however Rogan would most likely want to stay here for a while. A sudden rumbling in his stomach told him he was hungry. Then again he hadn't eaten for a few days now. He turned around but the only food stall was a bread stall. He needed something better, besides the chances were that the food would be expensive.
"Hey Rogan you hungry?" Kai asked without looking at Rogan.

[Rogan]

"Ah-aaah!" Rogan landed flat on his face at the beautiful lady's feet. Glwoering at Kai, he got placidly to his feet. "Now what was that for?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "If you#re offering to buy me lunch, I'll gladly accapt. *sigh* It's so hard to find someone willing to pay for your food these days..."

Looking wearily about him, Rogan decided that he actually was quite hungry. "Yes," he declared. "Yes Kai, you may buy me lunch."

[Kai]

Kai sighed typical Rogan.
"I didn't say I'd buy you lunch! I said would you like to find somewhere to eat? That means you pay for your own food!" said Kai poking Rogan in the chest while saying it.
Kai opened his small bag which had all his money in. Not lots, though there would be enough to buy him food for the next few weeks after that it'd run out. If they were going to stay here they were going to have to get a job.
" I don't know about you but I'm runnnig low on money. I need to get a job, which also means I'm going to have to find an inn. Are you gonna stay or are you going to do something else?"

[Rogan]

"Hus-quee!!" Rogan wheezed as his dear 'friend' rodded him in the chest. "Oh Kai!" He cried dramatically. "You have quite wounded me! The LEAST you can do now is to buy me lunch! What a cruel, cold-hearted person you are!"

Rogan looked carefully forlorn, knowing that his friend woul probably have fixed him with an incredulous stare. "So you're getting a job, huh? Where are you gonna get one? In an inn? Or a tavern? Or a food-stall? Or... or a restaurant!!!" Rogan dreamily thought about all the free food he could get if Kai were to get a job in a culinary field... "Oh, Kai, what would I do without you?!" He cried, before flinging his arms around his friend in a jovial fashion.

[Kai]

Kai ignored Rogans remarks and replied simply "Whatever come on lets go." He shrugged Rogan off and looked at a board advertising jobs. He noticed that he could become a bar tender in a nearby tavern. That should be easy enough and the pay was good. "Rogan I don't even know if you're gonna get a job but I'm getting this one." He pointed at the job of working as a bartender in The Golden Gorse. He started walking in the direction that it should be. "See you later."

[Rogan]

"K-Kai!!" Rogan's mouth hung open. Was he really going to have to buy his own lunch?!
"Well, I suppose I'd better come and make sure you don't get into any trouble." He sighed heavily, as if he were doing his old friend a great favour. "You know how you can get!"

Hw looked thoughtful. So Kai was going to work in a tavern... Maybe he would get his free lunch after all!

"Come on now Kai!" He called, icking up speed as thoughts of food and drink entered his shallow brain. "Keep up! I tell you what, if you're going to lag behind you might as well give me a piggy back. Go on - crouch down! Let me UP!" Rogan continued to pester Kai as the walked alongt the streets, bugging him for piggy-backs, songs, little treats he knew that his friend kept in his pockets, and even asking him to announce him as the honourable Lord Rogan when they reached the tavern...
