The bartender barks you a rough greeting as you enter the inn, and he runs a dirty cloth over a glass handed to him by his previous customer. "Now wha' can i get yer?" he grins toothily, gesturing to the few ales and beers he has stored in barrels behind him. Business is slow, and so everything is ridiculously overpriced. At least you can be assured of a quiet drink, unless a fight breaks out. The man grows impatient as he waits for your order, yelling at some men rolling dice on a far table to keep the noise down. Barnabas Beazly stumbled into the bar. The bartender gave him the usual greeting as Barnabas sat down at his favorite stool, and immediatly slid to the floor. Getting back up he ordered some ale and slapped a few coins on the table. One of the more burly individuals in the bar approached Barnabas, thinking to knock the fool out and steal his money. "Hey your in my seat." The individual angrily barked. Barnabas turned lazily around and looked at the man "Now, ssssir you ssssee if thiss was yourr seat then *hic* you'd bee sittin here, but sseing ass your a more bigger sir, I guess you need to sit down cuz you've a been carrrying around alll that weight today." Barnabas poked the mans belly. Angrily the man swung at Barnabas' face, at the same time Barnabas turned around and the man slipped on some ale left on the floor by Barnabas' mug. The poor fellow fell headlong into the bar, cracking his chin on the wood then falling to the floor in a slump.

Darhin looked around the inn, dirt covered the floors in immense amounts, making what would have originally been cobblestone a deep black. Light poured in through crudely cut opened windows, casting a dim shadow over everything. Everyone was talking loudly, almost too loud, with large mugs in their hands, and dazed looks in their eyes. Was this suppose to be an inn? It looks more like a bar! Turning to Karei he said, "I think we should leave, I don't like the look of this place..."

Karei glanced around the place, rubbing the back of her neck. ''Yea, I know you're right....'' She pulled out her pouch, digging through the coins, and narrowed her eyes. I'm charging money next time I do a job... She thought, setting her pouch back in hervest. ''The other inns 'round here seem kinda expensive and I dun have much.'' She said, sighing softly as she glanced around.

Darhin looked around, he really did not like this place, all the men smelled of old beer, and a few of them where looking at Karei with odd looks...he knew that couldn't be good, "I have enough, let just go." He was starting to turn towards the door when he saw a large giant of a man standing before him...well staggering is a better term, their was a cup of ale in his hand. "Hey lad...why don't, hic, you just go on. And we'll take, really, really good care of the lady for ya...." Darhin stepped in front of Karei and out of the corner of his eye saw her grip her dagger. "Just let us go, and there won't be any problems, sir." Darhin was getting nervous, he could handle one drunk thug no problem, but some where getting interested in the fight and were walking closer. He steeled himself for almost anything.

Karei sighed, rubbing the side of her. This is all I need today... She though. As the man moved toward her she suddenly dropped into a crouched position, swiping one leg across the ground and catching the back of the man's legs, knocking him of his feet. She turned, on her feet, and flicked her dagger to the throat of the closest man. ''Now, if you don't mind, move.'' She said, a growl vibrating through her throat.

Darhin watched as everyone took one large step back, he kept a stern face, but inside he was nearly laughing. Standing next to Karei he whispered to her, "Remind me not to get on your bad side." In a single motion he drew his sword and held it out, a dark shadow covering his face, "I think you should take her advice, unless you feel like fighting both of us." He growled, however he had a feeling these men would not leave so easily, they were too intoxicated for that, and they had probably lost all their common sense. Hopefully the site of his weapon will scare them off a bit.

Karei smirked, glancing at him from the corner of her eye. ''Yea, that's usually not wise.'' she ducked as a punch was thrown and struck the man in the stomach with her elbow, stunning him. It was suprisingly easy, but then again the men were slow and stupid at the moment. ''Who's idea was it to come in here in the first place, again?'' She asked, turning around to take on the next person that came at them.

Darhin ducked underneath a blow and then came up again slamming his elbow into his jaw. Swinging around he slice with his sword very lightly, drawing a couple drops of blood on one of the man's arms, but enough to make him stop what he was doing. Turning around he jammed another man in the stomach with the flat side of his sword. Backing up so that he was behind Karei, he said, "How was I suppose to know it was going to be like this, the farmer said it was the cheapest inn in town. Oh, well, it makes things interesting right?" He smirked punching another drunkard.

''Not really. Just makes me annoyed.'' She flipped her dagger around, ramming the hilt into the throat of one of the men. ''Jeez, all I wanted as a bed for myself and a stable for Arai.'' Kar sighed, ramming her knee into the stomach of another dunk. She felt something strike the back of her hea dand winced, catching herself before she fell, and dragged her arm around, smacking the man in the jaw with her fist and sending him back into another man. ''Ow...I thought it hurt when Arai smacked me with his skull...'' She murmered, rubbing the back of ehr head.

Darhin dodged a blow and sliced open the stomach of a drunk. He winced, he didn't like killing these men, they were different then normal thugs or crooks, they were intoxicated, not evil. Some of these men might actually be good fellows at heart but just had a really, really bad day. Like their wife divorced or something of the sort. Something told him in the back of his mind that he was playing with fire by being compassionate about his enemies. One's who would slit his throat the first chance they got. Growing colder Darhin stabbed another man, having him topple over the other body, he was becoming a fighter, slowly but surely. It was changing him in more ways then he liked.

Karei turned, quickly grabbing Darhin's arm. ''Don't kill them, just knock them out.'' She hissed, turning and ramming her heel into another man before he could reach them. ''They're barely conscious as it is, a quick blow to the head or neck will suffice.'' She added quickly before letting go and turning to face the rest of the men that were nearby.

Her hushed voice made him snap out of the phase, as if he was in some sort of trance. It was that mood of a fight, one that makes you want to fight and fight until your the last one standing. He concetrated, being sure not to let it happen again, he swiftly turned around and puched a man squarely in the jaw. And then turned to grab ahold of another man's fist, bending it he broke the man's arm and pushed him into the back of the room. The entire area was cleared now, all people unconsious or dead, except for the one man in the corner who was craddling his arm. "Lets go," He said to Karei. Not wanting to make any more of a scene.

Karei nodded firmly, sheathing her daggers and hurrying out the door. She untied Arai quickly and gathered the reigns in her hands, urging him down the street. ''Well...we have two choices...to go find another inn that is hopefully cheap or just make camp somewhere.'' She said as they moved, looking over her shoulder at Darhin as they made their way away from the bar.

Once outside Darhin shook his head, "No, I think there is another. I noticed out in the street there was a large market, the Farmer's Market I believe its called, we could try to find some work there and then buy rent at an inn that is suitable enough, at least so that there isn't a crowd like the last one in it." The Farmer's Market right now was alive with action, they could easily find a shop owner somewhere that would be wiling to pay them for a days worth of help. "So what do you think?"

''I'm not sure I want to stay in one place that long....'' She said. She knew he only meant a day or so, but even then Karei would be very restless. She rubbed the back of her neck thoughtfully, looking toward the market. ''Hm, why not?'' Kar answered with a shrug.

"Okay, lets go," Darhin said as he sheathed his sword, which he was still holding. Looking at the sun he could tell it was pretty early still, a hard day of working they should make enough to get a pretty good inn.
((Lets contiune this in Farmer's Market))

He couldn't believe they were back in here. damn, why did the inn they wanted to stay have to get new management?Ones who did not want any peasant wanderers staying at there inn...he sighed, it figured. "Well at least the crowd isn't here..." It was still early in the morning, so the mob that attacked them earlier was not there. He begrudingly walked up to the bartender/innkeeper and said, "One room please." He looked at the two them suspiciously, but went ahead and pointed upstairs. Darhin went ahead and started to walk up them, wincing as he heard them creak underneath him.

''A good workout never hurt anyone.'' Karei replied as they walked up the stairs. She sent a deathly glare at a group of drunken men. Shifting her swords as a warning. Aparently they got the point and backed off. She jumped up one stair when it creaked a bit too loud. ''I hope the rooms are sturdier....'' She grumbled as they reached their room.

It was sturdier, but that's about the only improvement. There were no windows in the room, so it was pretty dark, when Darhin bent over to light a lamp that was sitting on a desk, it revealed the rest of the room. There were large cracks along the walls, and he saw a mouse scurry trough one of them. The desk that held the lamp was the only peice of furniture in the room, except for the bed that is...wait, a second. He looked again, and sure enough there was only one bed, not two. He blushed as indecent thoughts came to his head, but pushed them aside, he murmbled under his breath, "I'll just sleep on the floor..." Already hating the idea.
