This grassy path leads down to the beach, or around to walk along the clifftops for an afternoon stroll, a brisk morning walk, or an evening mooch. Walkers are few and far between along the cliffs, but many flock down to the beach. Whichever is your destinatino, this is the quickest route there.

Darhin wandered through the narrow seaside path, he sat ridged ontop of Harind, it had been many days since the battle, and he know felt unbeleivably tired. He had traveled through the bulk of Forai, dodging the rest of the knight's troops and helping the people as much as he could. However because of his unexpected depature from Calamere, he had not packed food. And five days later he was very hungry, and was in a dire need for water. (He managed to drink small amounts by conguring it up, but that could only do so much) He ran his hand along Harind's side, and felt that long scar along its flank, the poor creature, though Darhin saw that it was attended to, Harind would have that scar for life. It looked like everyone took away some battle scars from that monsterous battle.

Karei stepped on the reigns harshly. ''stand still Arai! I'll never get it bandaged if you keep moving away.'' She said, moving to his back leg again. Arai snorted, turning his rear around while keeping his head above the reigns. This caused the reigns to wrap around her lips and knock her over. Kar landed with an oof and glared up at the bay. ''You brat.'' She grumbled, standing up. She tried again, slapping the bandage over the wound, and then moving with him as she wrapped it around. Smirking she stood up straight and turned to continue down the path. Then she saw Darhin and Harind. For a moment she was too shocked to move, then she hurried over. ''Darhin, are you ok? You look like you've had a rough time...'' She said, then bit her lip. For the past two or three days she had been searching for him, but now that she had actually found him she had no idea what to say. Help him, tell him later She thought, swallowing slightly.

"Karei!" He shouted, turning Harind around, "Your okay! And what about Cody? Where is he?" It was a normal question but the look on her face when he said that suggested something was wrong, but before he could ask further about it he felt Harind stagger a bit beneath him. Stopping, he hopped off and looked over him. It looked like the wound had reopened when he turned Harind around to face Karei, he went to get some of his supplies when he realized he didn't have any, he had managed to find something in some of the town's he visted thorugh Forai, but he didn't have anything on him. And he didn't know anything he could use to stop the blood flow. He looked over to Karei wondering if she could help.

Karei hesitated, then used Harind's wound as an excuse to delay the answer. ''Darhin, grab my bags and set them down.'' She said. She watched as he went to grab them and then smacked the back of Harind's legs, forcing him to lie down with the wound facing up. At first he struggled, but she held him down firmly. After some time the black steed gave in and remained still. As Darhin set the bags down she dug through them quickly and pulled out a few herbs and bandages. I have just enough...I'll have to gather more later.... She thought, having used most of her herbs on Arai's, Cody's (before he died), and her own wounds. Carefully, she crushed the herbs up and applied them to the gash on Harind's flank, then quickly bandaged it before the herbs could leak out. ''Ok, there, he should be fine now.'' She said, sitting back and wiping the blood off on a rag. With a grunt, arai laid down, not caring that he still had the saddle on. Kar stood up, walking over to her horse, and unstrapped the saddle, lettting it fall off. Arai lifted himself a bit so she could pull it out from underneath him, then just collapsed again.

Darhin watched Arai fall and was about to ask if something's wrong when he saw Harind, injuried too, walk up and collapse beside him. Not from wounds but just because of exhaustion, taking their lead, Darhin found that on foot he could not stand to well, and instead of letting his knees buckle he sat down on the ground besides the two horses. His stomach rumbled, he hadn't eaten it days. "Do you have any food on you?" He asked sheepily, slightly embarressed he had to ask her for food that he normal could have easily provided for himself.

''Yea...'' Karei answered, slowly pulling a small sack out of the bags and tossing it to him. Inside where fruits and vegetables, a loaf of bread, and left-over meat which were all kept in preservatory herbs. At the moments her thoughts were consumed with how to tell him about Cody...especially without her getting emotional. She rubbed ehr arm gently, chewing on her bottom lip as she moved and sat next to Arai. She leaned against his barrel gently, resting her head against his shoulder as she thought about it.

Darhin devouded the food in seconds, that was how hungry he was. As he was eating he noticed that Karei was oddly silent, too much so, he commented on it and she said it was nothing, but instead mentioned his eatting habits. Which lead into the discussion of how hungry he was because of all his constant traveling, and what happened for Darhin after the battle. He noticed that the sun was setting, "I guess we better make camp out here, any suggestions on where, I've never camped out doors before." He said as he helped Harind up, his legs were wobbling a bit, but he could still walk, Darhin decided to walk besides him instead of on him, while he listened to Karei's advice.

Karei stood up, followed by Arai, and took up her bags and set the saddle on Arai's back, though didn't cinch the girth. She pointed ahead to the top of a hill. ''There, between those trees. We'll be safe if a tide coems in, and we'll be able to see if any bandits or what not are about.'' She said, leading them up to the hill. Once they reached the top she let Arai lie down and watched Harind do the same. She started a quick fire and blinked, just noticing that Darhin ate all teh food. She didn't say anything now, just tossed him her bear skin blanket. ''It seems like it'll get cold tonight.'' She said with a light smile. She laid back against Arai's barrel, as she did moments before, and stared at the flames absently.

"I don't have a problem with the cold" Darhin muttered, his voice barely more then a whisper. Looking at the fire he was reminded of the fires that came pouring out of the ruined buildings, of the townspeople running around in a panic, just trying to find somewhere safe or be with someone who could protect them. How they were all slaughtered mercilessly. He remembered that they won that battle, the army had retreated, but for what cost? There home was destroyed, nearly the entire population was massacred, it was a pyrric victory indeed.

''Just keep it with you tonight anways....'' Karei murmered in response. She turned, burying her face against Arai's mane, and let out a soft sigh. She closed ehr eyes, hoping to get some sleep without any nightmares from the previous battle. Arai had already fallen asleep, his head laid on his legs next to Karei's lap.

Darhin was not tired at all, he always had a odd sleeping pattern, his job required him to stay until every horse in the inn was attened for so if the inn was having a very busy day, he would only get a couple of hours of sleep. And that's not considering his habit of every night to sneak out and practice his magic...
Darhin practically jumped up at that, he had forgotten, during all this traveling he hadn't once practiced his element! His power required costant concentration and creativity to shape the water into what he wanted. He needed to practice. He snuck past Karei, frowning slightly at the look of unease on her face from a nightmare she was having, and wandered out towards the water's edge.
He saw the vast extent of water, extending for miles, this was an water elemental's paradise! Walking out into the water he let the water freeze underneath him, forming a solid ice path, one that took him out into the midst of the ocean. No one was around, no one was there to see or hear him.
He felt more free then he has ever in a long time. Raising both hands above his head he summoned up the water, having it spiral in great long circles around and around his body, flowing up his arms, legs, torso, and head. Howering in the air, and dancing around him rapidly, gaining speed by every pasting moment. His hands were glowing brightly. He constentrated and made them all solid, pure ice. And then let them fall into the water with a splash.
He then gathered his concentration and summoned a large ice spike, to the left of him, towering high above him. He then created another, drawing it out of the waters edge, and then a third. Finally the fourth came out, large and tall, boxing him in on all sides. He then let go and let them shatter.
Darhin had never, ever done anything like this. He was smiling merrily, his eyes a glow the sea wind grabbing his hair and tossing it about. Cody had always said that he could speak to the spirits of the elements, of water, earth and sky. But today, here, for once the water spirit talked to him, sung to him. He was more free, more bold then he ever was before. He continued to conjure, having the water bend to his will. Finally when he finished he turned around and walked back to shore. Having the icy path behind him disapate.
On shore he saw the sea alive, sparkling with a radiance that would dazzle most of the experience of sailors. However there was a problem, to much ice, especially suspecious in this season, concentration he melted it all. Turning it back into water. Satisfied, and very tired, he made his way back to camp.

Karei remained asleep, but Arai was awake and watching Darhin as he returned. He snorted softly and nickered, shifting his position as if threatening to wake Karei. The girl stirred, burrying her face deeper into the beast's mane and clutching a handful of his long hair in her hand. Arai watched Darhin curiously still, not moving now and blinked curiously. ((ooc: Arai POV post XD almost))

Darhin walked into camp, and saw that Karei was still asleep, but her horse was up and about, as he went down to lay on the ground he could have sworn Arai was staring at him the entire time, as if suspecing him to do something. He shook off he feeling, he's just feeling paranoid. He slowly fell to sleep, a peaceful, blissful one, the soothing effects of the sea having calmed him.

Karei felt the warm sun strike her face harshly. A groan escaped ehr and she stirred, unwilling to wake up. However, memories of her nightmares made her open her eyes. The nightmares would always stay after she killed, but they went away after a couple days. They seemed to linger now, though. She yawned and stood up. Darhin was still asleep and she didn't want to disturb him. She spotted a river emptying into the ocean not far off and smiled. Kar decided that she would get in a quick bath beforethe sun rose completely. She took up a cloth and dug deep into her pouch. She smiled, finding some herbs she stored that were cleansing herbs, and then stood up. She headed down to the river, eager for a bath.
Arai had woken up and the sun had rose completely. Karei returned, her damp hair tossed over her shoulder casually. She went to see if she could cook something up for breakfast, then rmembered they were out of food. She sighed, but merely shrugged and sat down. Kar watched Arai graze lazily as seh waited for Harind and Darhin to awaken. Darhin's sleeping in pretty late...then again he seems to have had a rough time... She thought, looking over ehr shoulder at him.

Almost like a cue, Darhin suddenly stirred, pushing himself up he rubbed his eyes warrily. He felt freshened, and ready for the day. A very odd sensation first thing in the morning, but suddenly the memories of the night before came flooding back. And he grinned, a large, wide grin, something very different for him. Who ususally seldom smiles unless he was around someone he was fond of. He got up and looked over at Karei, and his smile got larger, "Good morning!" He said cheerily as he got up to start the day.

''You're perky today.'' Karei said with a soft, half-smile. She did feel better after the nice, cool bath, but she still wasn't feeling herself. She looked back over at Arai, resting her chin on her knees as seh watched the large stud still. His leg appeared to be almost healed, which she was glad for. Thanks to the herbs it was healing rather quickly.

"Yeah," Darhin said with a smile, "I feel really good today, so," He asked sitting down next to her, "do you know where the nearest town is? I've never been in this area before."

Karei shook her head slightly in response. She didn't say anything, just continued to watch Arai distantly. That bay turned and trodded toward them. He nudged Karei's shoulder expectingly. She reached up with both hands, stroking his cheek and muzzle softly, and let out a sigh.

Darhin frowned, "I guess that means no." He walked over to Harind and helped him up, seeing that the wound had fully healed, a scar on his side. Helping him up, he smiled as he saw his horse walking smoothly and uninjuried. "Come on, lets go, maybe we'll come across a town." He said as he mounted onto the horse's back.
