Karei sighed, rubbing the back of her neck as she stood up. She saddled Arai, hanging the bags onto the saddle. As she did, Arai kept nudging her expectingly. ''We'll get something at the next town...'' She told the horse beneath her breath, destroying all traces that they had been there before mounting Arai. Once she settled on his back she moved him up next to Harind, still debating on how to tell Darhin of Cody's death. ''Darhin...there's something I should probably tell you.'' Kar said hesitantly, looking down at Arai as she stroked his neck.

"What is it," He asked cuirous, as he pulled Harind up besides her, it was early in the morning and they were now traveling next to the sea, the sand being overturned by their horse's hoofs, suddenly he stopped Harind, "Do you hear that?" It was an odd sound, something booming, soft, as if it was taking place somewhere far away. Was it thunder? Maybe there was a storm taking place over in Calamere?

Karei glanced behind her where the scource of the sound was. She then turned her gaze back to Darhin. ''Well...it's...erm...Cody's dead.'' She said, finally able to get it out. ''He was killed by that snake demon, but he managed to kill it first.'' Kar explained quietly before he could reply, if he was able to reply. She didn't know. She looked back down to Arai's neck, seeing the horse turn his head and push her foot with his nose.

"He's...he's...dead?" Darhin whispered, his eyes wide, for a moment Harind stopped trotting, but he didn't notice nor care, "The snake demon...the one that shot him during the battle? Are you sure? Cody can't be...he just can't." He shook his head vigourisly, but already he knew what the truth was, and it made all of his former good mood dissipate into nothing. His arms fell to his sides and he did not speak again for the entire ride.

Karei bet her lip lightly, feeling her eyes brim with tears at the memory. As she had before, she just blinked them away and allowed Arai to follow Harind. She kept on hand on ther eigns, barely holding them, and the other rested on his poll. Just as Darhin remained quiet, she did, too.

The ocean splashed as the foaming water raged out in the ocean. Suddenly a man washed ashore. His naked body soaking wet as he stepped from the ocean. His eyes were distant as he breathed deep gasping in air, like he was just born. He slowly made his up off the beach and towards the Seaside Path, he began to walk on it his legs wobbling. His eyes gazed around taking everything in, like a child. He then heard the sound of hooves and people talking. He turned in time to see someone was coming.

Suddenly a shooting star crossed through the horizon. Behind it flew a dazzling display of reds, oranges and yellows. A mystical show for the eyes to feast on. But there was something odd about the star, it almost look like it was actually moving. Soaring through the heavens. Darhin watched as the star tumbled down, chrashing into the waves with a giant splash. Looking at Karei, who was staring at the scene in amazement, he motioned Harind to begin his gallop into that direction.

Karei and Arai followed Darhin and his steed down to the ocean. Her eyes widened when she saw a naked man stumbling out of the waters. Instantly she grabbed her blanket form her bags and dismounted Arai, rushing toward the man. ''Are you ok?'' she asked, holding the blanket out to cover himself up with. She looked over at Darhin questioningly, wondering if he had any idea what was going on.

The man looked deeply into her eyes, as if he knew her. Then he looked at Dahrin a smile crossed his face. Then before they knew he was smiling it was gone. "I am home. Orion...my name is Orion." He stuttered out as he held the blanket around him.

Darhin was just as confused as she was, dismounting Harind, he helped the man stand, who was walking about as if this was his first time walking on two legs. When his hands touched the man's skin he felt a numbing coldness, though the man was not shivering. Turning to Karei, he said, "Lets make a fire, he's freezing." They led him away from the Ocean and nearer to the forest, as they quickly got a fire going.
Sitting down on the ground, Darhin looked at the stranger, who was staring at the fire with a blanked expression on his face, "What is your name?" He asked, wondering who this man could be, and more importantly, what happened to his clothes.

''Darhin, he introduced himself as Orion.'' Karei said as they settled around the fire, looking at Darhin oddly. She then looked back at Orion, curious still. ''My name is Karei...the bay horse is Arai and Darhin's is Harind...'' She introduced silently, watching Orion curiously. ''where are you from?''

"Karei...Karei." He stammered out. He turned to Dahrin. "Dahrin." He almost smiled. The fire was blazing then without warning the light orange flame roared to a brillant blue inferno, then settled down quickly. He turned to the horses staring deeply into their eyes. "Karei...I am from..." He let eyes stare into the fire then looked up at the sky.

(I started to write that before Mark posted, his post was just too short, I couldn't do it fast enough.)
"Sorry," Darhin muttered, he was obviously still effected by the sudden news of his friend's death. Listening curiously to Orion's shaky conversation he asked, "from where?" leaning forward from his spot, already very interested in this mysterious stranger.

Kari almost jumped by what Orion last said. She blinked at him, surprised. ''How...do you know about that?'' She asked hesitantly, looking back at Darhin, then to Orion.

Darhin was just as confused, staring at the man, "Who do you mean?" But somehow he already knew the answer but was afraid to admit it. He looked at the stranger, now more than ever wishing he knew who he was.

"Enough questions they hurt my head." Orion began to run his temples. His expression was one of pain as he moaned a little. "I don't remember." His eyes rolled to the back of his head then suddenly something flashed in his eyes. "Dark Knight....." Orion then fell back as a what looked like a blue flame erupted from his eyes. He then rolled into a ball. He began to moan alittle like a child that had just got punished.

Karei almost jumped in surprise at the man's reaction. ''I'm sorry...'' She apologized quietly, lightly laying a hand on his shoulder. ''We're just a bit confused. Will you tell us when you can?'' Kar tilted her head, studying Orion curiously. She had to wonder what was going on, still.

Darhin put a consoling hand on the man's shoulder too, but he was still staring at the man, was that blue fire that just came out of his eyes? If so Karei didn't comment on it. But he was still suspecious, their was more to him then meets the eye. "We should get you some proper clothes," He frowned when he realized that they had no spare clothes, he walked behind Harind, as if he was taking something from the pouch on his side, his hand started glowing as he conjuring a fresh new set of clothes, dark blue in color. "Here," He said handing Orion the clothes, "Go ahead and change, there's some cover over in those tree's over there." He said pointing. He waited until Orion left and then turned to Karei, "What are we going to do know? He hasn't even told us where he is from, how are we going to get him back home?"

Karei watched as Orion walked over to change, then looked at Darhin. She bit her lip as she slowly sat down again. ''I don't think we're going to take him home...'' She murmered, running her hand through her hair. ''It's kind of eerie though...the way he looked at us earlier...it was like he knew us or something. And how did he know about the dark night and...'' She stopped, her voice trailing off, and sighed, placing her head on her knees.
