Cody quickly dodged the swing, Dahrin was good. Could only get better. "Excellent, now use your powers to make your weapon stronger. Try it Dahrin I have met Elementals before its one of the more advanced strengths, just concentrate and make it so. I believe in you Dahrin." Cody grinned. He leaned on his great-hammer. The wind kicked up blowing the white hair out of his face revealing his scar along the left side of his face.

Make his weapon stronger? He guessed it was possible. He had never done such a thing. But then again he hadn't held a weapon in a long time. Concentrating he summoned up an immense amount of power, drawing most of it from the snowy valley below. He watched as ice forced around the edges of his blade, once, twice, three times, it reformed making the edges and the point sharper. Holding it up he realized it was now unbelievably light, swinging it around a bit. He got use to the fell quickly as he turned back to Cody who looked impressed but was trying hard not to show it. Holding his blade uploft he watched as Cody picked up his hammer.
Here is where the real fight begins.

He watched as Dahrin looked ready to go. He grinned he still had much to learn. "Dahrin you have got! Now try and use your power to create armor for yourself. This is hard I know but you can do it."
Cody began to commune with spirits of the sky and mountain. This battle if Dahrin could get his powers in full, would be unbeliable. One that Cody even anticapted.

An armor? He didn't need an armor! He wanted to fight, fight, fight!! Something in the back of his mind told him to calm down, and this time he listened to it. Leting his body relax he felt as if a wave washed over him. Cooling the raging fire within him. Only for a short while though.
Concentrating he knew that this was going to be harder then last time. He had to imagine what the armor was going to look like. He imagined a light blue platemail, incoded with intricate designs, and with a jagged looking shard in the middle. His hands started to glow. The first time was a absolute failure the dimest of outlines appeared but then fell apart, turning into water that fell to the ground. The second time was a lot beter, he even got the entire suit on, but when he took a step it shattered and the ice peices fell to the ground with the water. He started cursing and ran a hand through his hair. At last he tried again and the suit appeared instantly, and more defined then the other time. He took a few tentitive steps and was pleased to see the armor stayed it place. Looking at Cody the fire inside roared to life. This was it. Holding his sword diagonally from his chest. The blue light sparkling from the sunlight. He smiled, he was ready to fight, and he was going to fight with his entire being, his mind, soul and body. He had a feeling in his gut that this was going to be a massive fight.

Cody smiled as he watched Dahrin's fire roar inside. He could see it in his eyes. Cody grinned gripping his hammer. He could feel himself losing himself in the battle. The berserker fury running through his veins. He brushed some white hair out of his eyes. He made a quick sudden movement but then stopped. He wanted to fight, but Dahrin just wasn't ready. Indeed he was at a point alot further along then Cody imagined. He had mastered his element. The next step was to master his eviroment.
Cody gazed into Dahrin eyes. He was quickly becoming stronger and acting more like a warrior with every passing moment. Good when the war came to the Golden Lands, Cody would need Dahrin by his side.
"There will be no battle here, not yet Dahrin. Be angered if you want. But remember there is much more to battle then what you have learned here today. You have passed your first trial. You should be proud."

Darhin was so shocked that the enhancements fell apart completely. He scowled. He was really angry. More angry then he ever felt before. Again he had to force himself to calm down, much harder this time, he relaxed his shoulders. The fighting spirit within him dieing out completely. He glared at Cody, angry at him, but knowing that what he did was most likely wise, he had much more experience then Darhin had, he fought in wars all his life. Still he was not happy about it. Darhin slid his sword into the sheath on his side, "So what next?" He tried not to let the disappointment come into his voice, "Do we just go back to Calamere?"

Cody could sense Dahrin's anger. Cody himself knew that Dahrin was strong, but he knew he could bring more out of Dahrin. It was what Dahrin needed. Sure Dahrin could go into battle and come out of it alive. But he wanted Dahrin to go into it confident and dominate. His power running through his veins instead of his anger. His anger was certaintly a issue. Dahrin needed to fight his inner demons.
Cody turned to Dahrin, the cold wind blowing over the top of the mountain. "We will go to the center of the mountain. There you will learn to fight not using your power but your limitless imaganintion. In battle its not what you see but what you don't see. Come Dahrin." Cody turned and began to descend down the mountain.

Darhin followed Cody down the winding path. The anger within him dieing out. Replacing it was a curiosity. What did he mean about Imagination? How could his imagination test his skills physical or magical? Though he couldn't fight Cody, he wondered what this new test could be.

Cody and Dahrin entered a cave that lead deep into the mountain. Soon the cold was replaced by unimaginable heat. Cody stripped off his armour. He walked deeper into the mountain. Soon they both reached the center. The mountain was a volcano. What lay before both of them was what only could be describe as a molten pit of rock. Flames burst from the walls. Heat was unbearable. The mountain rumbled. Cody could feel the volcano's spirits. It was angry. It was going to erupt. Cody turned to Dahrin and over the roar of the fires he explained. "Dahrin, in this heat you must exstingush the fires of hell. Don't just use your power. Use your mind, focus. Let your imagination guide you. When you lose yourself in the art of your gift you will then be undeniable." Cody watched as the pit of fire bubbled.

Darhin stood there for a while, Cody's words sinking in, "You want me to extiquish a volcano? To make it be unable to erupt ever again? I don't have that type of power!" He settled down a bit, and tried to think real hard, he had to find away to cool down the volcano using his imagination, but that was proving to be unbearably hard do to the heart, he had to think. And each moment he stood there thinking the heat became fiercer.
He had to do this...and quick.

Cody could tell Dahrin was having difficulty, "Dahrin your power is only limited by your imagintion. Don't think about the heat or the fire. Think about your gift. Its mind over of matter."

Darhin nodded at the words, knowing them to be true. He consentrated. His power relied on his ability to think of new was to use it. But this heat was affected his judgment, and he was having trouble breathing, let alone thinking. He scowled, pushing his mind. He saw a lava pool nearby, the source of the volcano's power. What if he created a layer of ice to cover it? No that wouldn't work, the heat would just melt it. Wait! Yes! That could work! Concentrating Darhin searched for water behind the sidewalls. When he found it, he drew it out, applying pressure to the cave walls. Suddenly cracks began to form, and water gushed out in torents. Splashing against the lava in wave after wave. Smoke rose and clouded the room, but Darhin didn't care. Whent he smoke cleared. He saw that the lava had hardened into cool, tough magma, as solid as the ground beneath his feet. Pleaure and relief filled him, as a large grin formed on his face, "I did it!" he shouted.

Cody laughed clapping his hands together, as he picked Dahrin up off his feet with one hand placing him on his shoulders. "Congratulations Dahrin, much rest is needed. I believe we both deserve it." Cody laughed as he and Dahrin walked out. The sun was shining brightly as Cody put his plate mail back and they started down the mountain. It was a long way back to Calamere.
