Cody stood at the feet of the great mountains, Dahrin at his side. Dahrin was dressed warmly. Cody was wearing his heavy plate mail which would keep him quite warm in the mountains. He looked up at the rough path of the mountain. He turned to Dahrin as Cody picked up a large rock and put into Dahrin's hands. "Its time to climb. This trial isn't going to be easy, but by the end Dahrin, you will have a bond with yourself that will not be broken, you will grow strong. But need not worry Dahrin I will not let you fall." Cody brushed his white hair out of his eyes as he looked sternly up at the rocky mountain. His bright blue eyes locked onto Dahrin. Cody Evans smiled. "Ready, friend?"

Darhin nodded though he wasn't quite sure. He knew that the war was coming, and that he needed to be prepared for whatever happened. Relearning how to fight seemed the wisest choice. Still he wondered what Cody meant by the "Trials" was it something he learned while he lived with his tribe?
There was also the rock...
"What is this for?" Darhin asked as he lifted the rock, being careful not to drop it. It was oddly heavy. He hoped he didn't have to hold onto it too long.

Cody grinned. "This your trial Dahrin. In order to grow stronger and grow in knowlegde of one's self one would journey to the top of a mountain with a boulder on one's back. I didn't think you could handle the boulder but maybe a heavy rock. Its just part of the trial. It gets alot harder. But I promise you the real learning is at the top. Just don't quit. It is rough, I had to do it when I was six. So I know." Cody ties a rope around his waist and then tosses the rope to Dahrin. Dahrin looks at it cursiouly. "So you don't fall. Tie it around your waist. By the end of the climb you will realize just how strong you are how powerful your abilities can are." A strong breeze blew around Cody and Dahrin as they looked up at the mountain. "Ready? Any other questions?"

"No" it was true, he didn't have any more questions. He knew exactly what they had to do, but he didn't like it much. He set down the rock, and tied the rope around him. Making sure to tie it tight. Picking up the large stone once more, he meet Cody's eyes and nodded. He just hoped they reached the top soon.

As they began to climb up the path, Cody let his emotions brood. "So tell me everything Dahrin. I must know everything. No secrets on this mountain. What happened in Thern? Why do you hide and run?"

Already though just beginning the weight was proving to be unbearable. His back stung, but he could handle it. Moving in a steady pace behind Cody he heard him ask the question. However making their way to the top, it was getting difficult to breath, let alone talk, however he still answered his question.
"I didn't run away. I was...forced...because I'm..." The pain was getting unbearable Darhin tripped a bit, falling to his knees, he saw Cody make a move as if to help him up but he waved his friend away. He staggered back toward his feet, rock still held tight. And was dismayed to see they still had a long way to go.

Cody turned it wasn't easy but he had to make it more difficult for Dahrin, he must learn, he had to be broken to be strong. Funny how that was. One was be broken in order to grow stronger. Alot like Love. Something Cody had yet to experience. He wondered if a human woman could ever love a Colossus. He longed for that touch. He had been in constant life and death struggle for so long. He had watched countless lives perish beneath his power. He just wanted to get away from it all. Now on the mountain he could feel at home. He began to draw on the mountains spirits. He talked to them communing with them. He let his eyes run over a couple of large boulders that lay near the steep incline. Suddenly the mountain understood and let them roll towards Dahrin. Cody just kept walking as the boulders began to roll quickly towards Dahrin.

Darhin continued to walk up the mountainside. Cody was acting odd, seem to be deep in his thoughts, so deep in fact it was almost like he was otherworldly, more attached and intuned to the life around him then what one would think was physically possible. It scared him a bit.
He suddenly heard some noise and watched as two giant boulders rolled down the steep hill side and right towards him. Reacting on instinct he threw up the rock he was holding and let out two giant bursts of water out of his hands hitting the rocks and sending them tumbling on either side of him. He then walked forward and swiftly caught the gaint stone before it hit the ground.
He felt a tug around his waist and realized that Cody was still moving, the boulders not effecting him. Scowling something told him it was Cody who sent those boulders at him, he yelled, "Why did you do that?!?" But he recieved no answer as Cody continued to climb. He didn't think he ever would get one.

Cody grinned internally, young Dahrin was getting irritated. Good but he was using his powers excellent. Dahrin was more prepared then he thought. Cody had to step it. He closed his eyes as he began to pull himself over several large rocks that lay on the path. He could feel the cry of the mountain. He let the mountain roar. It shook. So very violently that a massive amount of rocks, simply put an avalanche of rocks and dirt came rolling down the path. But Cody let the mountain know it was not for him. The avalanche turned towards Dahrin. Cody knew in his mind that the mountain would not kill Dahrin. He had a long talk with these same mountains before. Cody thought back the days when he was child experiencing this very thing only he was so very much younger.

They walked for a bit longer, and Darhin was getting a bit more use to the walk. And was actually not breathing as heavily as he was before. He still held onto the rock, but sometimes switched from holding it in front of him to carrying it on his back. He was doing one of these transitions when the avalanche came. He lowered the rock, just to see a giant wave of boulders come tumbling down. Darhin stared at the avalanche in horror, he couldn't stop this! Bracing himself he hugged the boulder to his chest and ice began to form, first covering the rock and then extending off the rock to the bottom of the ground and then high above his head forming a solid wall. Just at that moment, the first rock struck. Darhin bent his knees and waited as more and more boulders came tumbling down, and chrashed against his shield. Chunks of ice flew off, and cracks formed along his barrier. But he stood firm against the onslaught and finally when the rocks stopped he let go of his concentraiton. The ice wall shattering to the ground.
His eyes widened at what he saw.
There right where his ice wall had ended was another wall, made entirely of boulders. After they had collided against his shield they had landed back on the ground and piled ontop of each other. He walked toward it and noticed it towarded high above his head, to high to climb over. Also he saw that the rope around his waist had become severed off.
He called Cody's name but he did not reply. Darhin assumed he couldn't hear him, or that if he did there was nothing he could do. Off to the side he saw a different path, far longer and more steep then the one they were orignally going to take, but it still lead up to the mountiantop. Having no other choice, Darhin made his way up the path, hoping to meet up with Cody on the top.

Cody spoke to mountain angry that the mountain had severed the rope. He asked the mountain where Dahrin was, it told him. He quickly moved over to the other path and caught up to Dahrin. He pulled more rope from his satchel and tied it them again. He had to make sure they both went through this together. "Dahrin...the rough spot is just ahead. You ready?" Cody was quiet as he continued to commune with the mountain and the sky. Indeed it was about to get real rough.

Darhin watched as Cody suddenly appeared out of no where, he somehow found another path that lead to this spot. He looked at the rope that Cody held. Where did he get so many? Taking the rope he tied it around his waist once more and asked, "So what are we going to do once we reach the top?

Cody turned his eyes intense, "Your training begins." As he lead Dahrin through a snowy valley. He let the mountain speak to him. He could feel the sudden change in tempature. It was getting ridiclously cold. Cody's breath was frosting in mid-air. He reached down in his satchel and offered some warm bear skin mits to Dahrin. Then he could feel the mountain sway. He feel the snow crunch underneath him. Suddenly, the wind kicked in strong torrents of wind gusted at Dahrin, without warning several large sharp iceickles began to fly at Dahrin, then the sky let loose with a barrage of rock sized hail. It stung Cody's skin. It hurt.

Darhin watched as the ice shards flew at him, of all the tests, as he started to learn they were, this one was the easiest. Water was his elemental. Raising his hand he took control of the shards and sent them hurdling at hail. The expression fight fire with fire, changed to fight ice with ice. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Cody being hit by the icicle. He wasn't going to let another one hit him, concentrating he saw a few more were heading their way. He stopped them in mid air and shattered them into small peices.

Cody grinned as he smiled as they finally reached the top of the mountain. He looked at Dahrin his eyes filled with pride. "This part of the trial is over. Now your training begins." Cody removed his great-hammer and roared out into the mountains. "Grab your sword Dahrin." Cody's eyes blazed like never before, he could feel the strength of the mountain enter his veins. He was one with the mountain. "This is your time Dahrin! Are you ready to embrace your destiny?"

His sword? Then he remembered Cody had given it to him before the climb. Said that he was given it from the king. Since he was now in his army. Darhin looked down on his hip and saw that his sword was still there. Throwing the rock aside he drew the weapon. Circling Cody old memories came back, the sword felt good in his hands, as if it belonged there. "Okay, show me what you got."

Cody grinned. Dahrin was strong in mind in spirit. He let Dahrin circle him. Then he chuckled as he gripped Peacemaker. "Dahrin this isn't about me. This is about you. You show me!" Cody then tossed aside Peacemaker onto the ground. Dahrin looked a little suprised but kept his stance. "Come Dahrin, just because I am unarmed does not mean I am defenseless. Show me what you have got." Cody motioned for Dahrin to bring it on.

Darhin looked at him, he said he wasn't defenseless, but it was he who had the weapon and Cody was unarmed. He didn't like the feel of that. So he rose his sword and delivered a weak swing. One that was easy to dodge. Something in the back of his mind told him he made the wrong move.

Cody concentrated letting his hands get hard like rocks, he could feel the drain. He watched Dahrin swing, he was holding back. He cared not he grabbed the sword in mid-air and with a quick flick of the wrists he was holding Dahrin's sword as he held it at Dahrin's chest. "See I am not unarmed. Lesson one, your enemies weapon is yours. Lesson two, when your unarmed they expect less, they get overconfident. Use it against them. You have a gift, use it." Cody threw the sword to the side as he picked up his massive great-hammer. "Time to take your first test." Cody grinned. He held back the fury that always builds in his veins and he called on the sky's winds for quickness. He roared as he swung his great-hammer towards Dahrin.

It happened all so fast that Darhin didn't even get a chance to stop Cody from grabbing his sword and chucking it far away. He watched as Cody came running up, hammer in hand. He remembered what he said before. He wasn't going to make that same mistake again. He pointed his hand to the floor, and water suddenly appeared underneath him. Darhin slipped right underneath Cody's legs and came back up behind him grabbing his sword he attacked again, the sword slicing through the air like butter, as he aimed high at Cody's head.
