Cody believed that The Circle was behind this attack, yet his anger began to cloud his own mind as rage took the place of thought. He began to swing widly into the ribs of the beast. His hammer crushing the creature again and again. Finally something inside of him told him to stop. He began to breath deep. He held off on swinging yet again and backed away from the beast. He watched as the creature disappeared before his eyes. Finally he could feel the burning sensation leave his veins. He collasped onto his knees his great-hammer the only thing holding him up. His plate mail armour feeling very heavy. He felt lighthead and very dizzy. He got to his feet and slowly made his way up the hill.

Darhin watched as Cody started to move, he had been hacking away at the beast, all the way until it had acutally vanished. And even then he was still slamming against it. As if he still thought it was there. He was worried about his new friend and went up to see if he was alright.

Cody watched as Darhin approached him and knew what he was going to ask. He wasn't a mind-reader but its what anyone not very familur with his people would ask. "I am okay, thank you Darhin. Your gift aided you well. See you saw my gift and I saw yours. Your secret is not one to be ashamed of. Stand up and be proud. You fought alongside of the Last Colossus."

Darhin couldn't believe his luck, "You really don't mind that I'm a elemental?" He found two people that knew of his secret and still liked him. Smiling he said, "You look pretty tired, would you like something to drink? Just hold out your hands."

Cien sighed brokenly. Puru-puru was now nudging her with more force than before, probably trying to see if she was alright. She patted it. After she had broken the bond, she had tried to retract her power immediately, but had failed. In the process, she had been drawn into the mind of the beast's master...
"It's not good, Puru-puru...not this turn of events..."
Turning her eyes up, she saw Darhin start after the other and decided to make her way over as well.

Cody smiled, in just a few moments young Darhin had changed. It was incredible, made him proud to be alive. He looked at the girl walking down the hill. She had a look on her face. Something was wrong. "Yes I am alright, when I commune with my ancestors I pull from a bond that is made with the Earth. It is exhausting to say the least, coupled with the fact that I have Berserker blood in me." He puts his hands out, but he never takes his baby blue eyes off of the girl approaching.

Darhin's hands started to glow and a small pool of water appeared in Cody's hands, he turned around to see Cien walking up, with an odd look on her face. Was he the only one who came out of this battle unscathed?
"Are you alright Cien?" He asked, though it was apparent that something was amiss. He walked over to her and outstreched his hand if she needed some support.

"I'm fine," she said, declining his help. "Its just something important that came up, after I broke the bond between the beast and its' master..."
She glanced at Darhin. "I don't mean to pry, but you did mention that you were from Thern. I assume you are both familiar with the war?"

Cody chuckled, he didn't mean to but war...god only knows what war is. He lived it. "Yes I am quite familiar with Thern and Rael. I am sorry I am Cody Evans Last Son of the Collossus, my people were....eradicted by Thern and Rael."

Darhin looked at Cody, eradicated? All of them? So that's what he meant by being the "Last Son" Before he left he had known that his people greatly hated the Collosus and all of the barabaric tribes out in the unclaimed lands. He did not know that they had attacked.
Turning to Cien, "Last time I checked Thern and Rael were in a middle of a long war. I left before I could see the conclusion. It's been six years since then, I do not know what the out come is."
He wondered if Cody had heard Cien when she said he was from Thern. He hoped that it didn't make him angry at him. But of course he must be. His people destroyed his family, and his kind.
(I'm really, really sorry guys, It's 10:00 over here, I gotta go to bed)

A small smile appeared on Cien's face. "Pleased to meet you, Cody. I'm...sorry about your people. They were a good race. The thing is," her face grew grim, "I have been avoiding the war since it started, but it seems that this time, I can't run anymore. You see,"she looked straight into their faces.
"They have decided to bring the war into the Golden Lands."

Cody's eyes wandered off into the sun set, he turned his back to his companions. The Circle had come after him, they had found him. Of course now it all made sense. His defining moment would come. He would meet Thern and Rael's armies and would bring them to their knees. The Legend of the Colossus would be birthed through his death. "Let them come, I will met their armies. I won't run from them. I won't let them take the last free land. My people died for thier home. This is my new home." Cody turned back and what looked like a tear in his eye. "And I will die here. Protecting my new home."

Darhin smiled at Cody's enthusiasm, he sure had spirit, he turned to Cien, "Are you sure? Because if this is true, the king should be rallying up his armies, not hosting balls. Does he even know that the war is coming here? And what about that beast we just fought. If Thern and Rael are attacking, it could be possible that the beast was sent not to single out any one of us but just to bring mayhem and disorder to the people. That was they are unprepared when the armies attack." Darhin use to be taught strategy from his father, it made sense to him. Though he wished it wasn't true.

Cody eyed Darhin, he was a thinker. "The King I believe knows. It is his buissness to know these things. I have spoken to him about such things as well. The Undead though...they trouble me." Cody runs his hands through his white hair. "Darhin have you ever heard of the Circle, or what did they tell you about my tribe or me for that matter while you were in Thern?"

Darhin tried to remember, but six years was a long time, "No I don't think I ever heard of the Circle. And it was only now that I even found out that your people were slaughtered. I'm very sorry about that Cody." Darhin paused for a moment, thinking, "You know it would be best to inform the king about the Undead, especially since its master is still out there somewhere."

"Indeed it would be. The Circle is a group of assasains created by Thern and Rael to hunt down me. the Last Colossus. They never give up. They are intelligent as well attempting to kill me different ways. They have employed the Undead before...." Cody eyed the horizon. "Darhin this land needs heros. Are you willing to rise up?"

"A hero?" Darhin muttered, "I'm no hero Cody, I'm just a farm boy, and even if I wished to be, these people would reject me. The only hero I could ever be is one that hid in the shadows, doing good but not letting anyone know about it."

Cody nodded. "One day Dahrin there will be no shadows to hide in. There will be heros and villians. Do you think it is easy for me to walk among men? Look at me. I am very different then those who walk the Golden Lands, but I take satisfaction in knowing that I am different. The past three years I have run from those that wanted me dead because I am different, now I will run and hide no more. I will stand and fight for the freedom of others. This is my cause. My salvation."

Cien glanced at Cody. This was no ordinary person. Even his aura clearly showed his determination...the flaming red aura of fire-
'Wind cannot blow it out, it only makes it stronger; water cannot extinguish it, because it will not die...isn't it, Puru-puru?'
She turned to Darhin. "You don't need to fear. In truth, the battlefield is the one place that will accept you completely without bias, and if you are not careful, totally devour you. You do not need to be a hero, only a warrior, fighting for what you believe in. After all, most heroes are made in the shadows."

Darhin turned to her, and couldn't help but smile, "What you say is true, but that still doesn't change what I am, I'm a farm boy, elemental or not. But I will do my best, to help anyone when the time comes. And I know I will do it whether they will accept me or not. Whether that makes me a hero or a fool I don't know." His eyes turned to the fading sunlight. "We should go back, my boss at the Inn will fire me if I stay around here any longer."
