Ava nodded "Yes I know the different Elementals. My mother was one." She loosened a bit and sat down listening to the sort of training. How did she wind up finding someone randomly and all of a sudden want to help her? She nodded more "Yes it is good information. Go on." her voice was slightly sweeter and her eyes softened. She turned her eyes to the fire a few times wishing to toy around with it, make it dance, or make silly shapes. But all she could do right now was get a little steam of smoke out of her fingers. She turned back to Darhin and looked at him up and down then stayed at his face 'Why do you want to help me? It isn't like you know me really."

"Why shouldn't I help you? Elementals are rare, and they only show up every couple of years or so. Its all the more reason to help you. Your powers are dangerous. Any false move and you could hurt someone. But more then that, they are also a tool. If you learn learn to master it you can use it to defend yourself and others...that way you won't get any more scars." He said, hopefully reasurring her of his good intentions. He just met her, but he could tell she was a good person at heart, he would hate to see her hurt.

Ava turned her eyes hard at him "I wont get anymore scars because I wont be near him." she stopped and thought of the things she stole with Karei's help from him. He would be wanting hsi gold back, as well as his hard working horse who hated him. He will most likely start searching for her in a few days. Her eyes started to tear up and she sniffled "I will never beable to get away from him will I?" she whispered to herself. She took her small hand and whiped away her tears that were starting to fall down her cheeks. She looked up at him "Alright, I-" she gave a small sniffle and took a deep breath. Did she want to do this? Trust someoen she didn't really know? "I...I trust you to help me. But if you break that trust there will be hell to pay."

"You can trust me. I promise that." He said, as if to further his point he drew his sword, walked over to Harind, and laid it on his back. He then walked back to her, "There, if that makes you more comfortable. I...oh...sorry...I left my spare matches back with Harind, could you get them for me?" He asked.

Ava stared at him and shook her head "You told me that your horse isn't that friendly, and now you want me to walk up to him and get something from his back?" She shook her head and started forward walking slowly. She stopped and turned around "What if he starts bucking or something?" She didn't wait for his answer but stopped a few feet in front of the horse. She turned her head to see Faye watching the stallion closely making sure he wasn't going to attack her.

When her back was turned Darhin quickly rose his hand and exquished the fire, with a burst of water. When it was gone, he took a pair of matches out of his pocket, "Nevermind, they were in my pocket, didn't notice them. And it looks like a gust of wind blew out the fire. Try liting it up again." He said pointing at the embers of the fire.

Faye's eyes widened as she saw water flow out of his hands. She poked Ava to turn around and she did as soon as she heard his voice after a bit of a splash. Her eyes rested on Darhin and then she started walking up back to him. She looked at the twigs and shook her head "Things have to be dry to set them on fire or that aren't flamable." She looked back up at him and then down at the twigs "How did they get wet? It didn't suddenly rain over here did it?" She laughed slightly.

"Weird huh? Must be one of those fluk of nature things. Oh well. Lets let them dry for a bit." He said as he picked the wet sticks up and pushed them aside, "Okay, first thing I have to know, what do you try to do, what do you feel when you tap into your powers? How do you shape the fire to do your will?" He asked, he knew he could teach her the basics, since he was an elemental himself, only he was a water elemental, not a fire. There was a difference but he wanted to over come that.

Ava stared at the sticks and shook her head "Darhin....out of all my years on this world. It doesn't just rain in one spot....and one little spot for that matter..." She then looked back up at him and shrugged "When i was younger..and my mother was around to help me. I was enjoying the time i played around with my magic. I learned to image things I wanted to with fire and then be able to put the image in the bonfire or fireplace. Or I picture it happening."

He chose to ignore her first comment, happily reply to the second, "That's good" That's how I work my magic too! he thought exictedly, he picked up the stick. It was still early out annd the sun was shinnig brightly so they were pretty warm. But not enough. "Yets take this slowly, instead of lighting a entire fire, just light a spark above one of your fingers. If you find you can do that easily, then make it into a ball in your hand. Keep that conection with your magic at all times, and concentrate on what you want it to be."

She ignored his wishes and grinned "I know why you want to help me. Are you an Water Elemental?" She asked openly and stared into his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me? Are you afriad that I would hate you or what not?" She serpressed a laugh and crossed her arms. "I look that mean and stressed out?" She walked towards him and took the stick out of his hands with a small smirk. "I will do this if you tell me what you did."

He raised an eyebrow, she was quick. It was a good trait he supposed. "Alright, yes I'm an water elemental. And you don't have to ask why I tried to hid it from you, you probably can answer that yourself. As for what I did..." He rose his hand, creating a small ball of water, he sent it circling up his arm, and down the other, he then let it drop, a few inches away from where the fire would be.

Ava watched the ball go up his ar and down the other then blinked as it made a small splat on the ground. She looked down at the twig and nodded "Ok. So I light this little guy on fire?" She looked at the twig hard and held her other hand close to it. She had a perfect image of herself liting it. This time not only a bit of smoke came out of her hand but a small spark. She made a soft growl and turned to Darhin "This is useless..."

"That's because you going to fast." He said as he took away the stick, "Its actually easier to conjur up your element then forcing it onto something else. Try just to do what I said, if you manage to do that, then we'll se about litting this fire."

"How can i be going too fast?" Ava shook her head and looked at the twig "Nevermind.." She closed her eyes and imagined what she had before. She slowly lifted her hand up ont the top of the twig and then she felt a bit of heat. She opened her eyes to see a small bit of fire liting the twig. She drew her hand back when she was done and grinned "That what you want?"

Darhin took the twig, smiling, "Yes thats good, don't try to do too much with your powers at first. Do simple stuff, and then progress your way to the more difficult things. He blew it out and then took another stick, "Can you lit two of them now?"

Ava looked at the two twigs and got a good image of liting them. She brought her hand up and stretched it along the two. Soon she felt a bit of heat and then noticed the two twigs lit. Part of her wanted to jump up and down like a little kid. But she stade on the ground btu smiled "So just be relaxed...and dont force let it out..."

"Exactly." He smiled as he took the two twigs, spraying a couple of drops of water on them, "Also keep in mind is that magic is a source of power in your body, though you have to imagine it in your mind to give it shape, you can't use it unless you have a connection to that source. To connect to that source you have to concentrate. But at the same time you have to be aware of your surroundings so you can use it against your opponents. You got that so far?" He didn't wait to see if she answered, he took the two twigs with the rest and put made a fire out of it...all that needed to be done was for it to be lit. "Try litting it again, but concentrate, keeping that connection strong, but stay relaxed, theres no pressure, take as long as you want."

Ava nodded "I got it so far..." she turned to the pile of twigs and closed her eyes for a second then opened them focusing on them. She then got a good image of what she wanted. A small spark escaped from her hand and she side but kept trying. "Come on.." Then a wave of fire escaped from her hand and spewed onto the the twigs. When she closed her hand she was staring at a well lit bonfire. She turned to Darhin and smiled "Thank you."

He smiled too, "That was great Ava!" He looked at the bonifre, and heard his stomach grumbling, "Good timing too. I'll start cooking." He walked over to Harind a pulled out some game he shot down earlier. He then walked back to the fire and started roasting them in it. Once they were ready he took one out and asked, "Do you want one?"
