The smell of the gardens reaches you before you see it; there is often the lovely smell of flowers drifting in a castle window. The Gardens are the most beautiful place in all of the Castle Grounds. Paving stones intertwine around the flower beds, and a large fountain burbles in the middle. On top of the fountain is a stone faery, pouring the water from a cup held in one hand. On the southern side of the Castle, they are always bathed in sunlight. The mood of the place is catching, as lavender grows in calm-smelling clumps, and the warmth brings a smile to your face. Many people mull about here, doing nothing but chatting, socialising, or even just enjoying the quiet.

Laedra smiled as a stray whisper of wind wafted the luxourious scent of the garden's roses into her nostrils, providing a temporary distraction from the ache that was rapidly developing around her wings.
Landing with a muffled thump, she cheerily looked around the gorgeous gardens, blooming with fresh flowers and bushes. The fountain burbled merrily asthe little faery on top tirelessly held up her water-bowl, and Laedra couldn't help smiling. "Well." She said to Khorren, putting her gently down. "Shall we go to look at joining the army? Or look for some accomodation first?"

Khorren looked about. It felt good to have the ground beneath her feet again.. although flying was fun. It was beautful. Little birds flitted about singing merrilly. "Maybe if we go and see about signing up for the army, there will be accomodation nearby?" She stretched out her arms and yawned deeply, then peered into Kianu's cage. He was sleeping in the middle, which she found surprising. She opened the little silver door carefully and stroked his little head before closing the door again. "Did you see where any barracks from the air?" she asked, suddenly realising she had no idea where to sign up.

"Yes... They're in that direction." Laedra grinned, winking, and pointed towards the east. "They're not too far, it should be fine for us to walk." She stared at Khorren, head tilted curiously to one side. "Don't worry about accomodation. If the worst comes to the worst, we can just sleep under the stars!"
Throwing her head back and laughing, Laedra spun around, gleefully relishing the feel of the wind whipping around her. If she'd been an elemental, she'd have been of Air; she lived to fly and loved the skies as she did her bretheren. In a suddden change of spiritm she stopped, and turned to solemly face Khorren.
"Which division are you going to join?" She asked her. "I want to be an arcehr. I can shoot from the skies.... That will be a lot of fun! And even if we're not in the same division... We can still train together sometimes, right?"

Khorren nodded, smiling, "Right." She didn't need to think about it. "I'm going to be a swordsman! I've always wanted to be one.. and of course I have to put this thing to use.." she indeicated the sheith at her side which contained Teiden, her sword. Khorren rather liked the idea of sleeping under the stars. She hadn't slept in a building for almost two years now, and had gotten quite used to it. Besides, it was summer, so rain should be scarce. She didn't voice this opinion, but instead lifted Kianu's cage as she walked and opened the little door, letting the little creature out. He walked boldly onto her shoulder and didn't seem at all shy or nervous. Khorren hung the little cage from her backpack and continued to walk, taking in the sights of the gardens and town as she did so.
((OOC - sorry for running off to the Army HQ without you XD I thought you'd forgotten or disappeared or something XD))

Darhin walked through the small gardens, Karei walking beside him. Flowers of various colors, spread across the ground, yellow, blues and reds. Wild and exotic plants spouted from the ground, some with giant leaves, and an odd texture. Plants and trees sparlkled with a exotic and flagrant colors. He found a small wooden bench, and sat down, he looked over at Karei and smiled, scooting over so there was enough room. These gardens were amazing.

As they entered the gardens, Karei felt her jaw drop at the sight. Most of the plants were definitely exotic. She had no identities for any of them. As they walked she gently swept her fingers at the flower petals and leaves, as if trying to familiarize herself with the plants. She saw Darhin sit on a wooden bench and took a seat beside him. ''It's lovely out here. I don't think I've ever seen so many different flowers.'' Kar commented with a slight smile, her gaze still running over the gardens.

Darhin smiled, "I know, its amazing." His eyes scanning the nearby area, he found a small flower, a bright blue in color, and picked it up sticking it behind Karei's ear, "There, it suits you perfectly." He laughed, looking up at the sky. It was a clear of any clouds, as the sun shinned brightly.

Karei smiled, reaching up and lightly touching the flower. She chuckled, looking at him from the corner of her eye. ''Yea, it kinda does.'' She smirked, leaning against the back of the bench and tilting her head back to look at the sky. She smiled softly, finding the peace and quiet an improvement from the ballroom. She decided a ball was maybe too much for someone like her and didn't plan on going to any other balls for a while.

"You've been very quiet." Darhin said, she seemed a bit tired, enjoying herself, but tired. He decided that maybe they would stay out a bit longer, regain their energy before they tried to dance again. He didn't mind staying out here longer. "Would you like something to drink? I think were was caterers inside the Castle, I could go get something."

Karei blinked at his comment and then smiled, nodding to his offer. ''Yes, I'd appreciate that. I think I might stay out here a bit longer, though.'' She answered with a soft smile, turning her gaze to the gardens again.

"Okay I'll do that," he stood up and started to walk away, after getting far away enough, he summoned up a small glass, very clear though, and filled it with water. Smiling he sat down, knowing that Karei wasn't expecting him back for a while. As he sat he thought about how drastically his life had change. He had been a stable boy, just that, with no friends and no family. And because of one breif encounter he met Cien, Cody, and Karei. And had more friends then he had for six years. He smile widened as he looked up at the sky. He was very blessed.
Once he had been sitting there for a good fifteen minutes or so, he got back up and walked over to Karei, handing her the cup, "I hope you don't mind that its water."

As he left she stood up, wandering over to where some of the brightest colored flowers where. Croushing down she examined them carefully, curious about them. She moved further down the pathway, listening to the small birds that were around. This is very nice. I don't think I'd mind staying in a place like this for more than a day. She thought amusedly. Shaking her head she returned to the bench and regained her seat. Karei looked up, smiling when she saw him returning, and took the cup of water. ''It's ok. I'm not one for wine or anything else, really.'' She replied, sipping enough to quench her thirst. A soft sigh escaped her, very content.

Darhin smiled, glad to see that she was happy, he sat down on the bench next to her, "So, do you want to go back inside, or do you want to wait out here some more? I honestly don't care." he was amazed, but the words were true, he didn't care as long as he was around her, he hadn't had this much fun in a long time.

Karei chuckled, setting the empty glass aside. ''Why don't we go look around the gardens a bit before heading inside?'' Her smiled broadened and she stood up, turning around and holding her hand out to him to help him up. ''I think I saw a maze earlier. I've never been in one before and it does look like fun.''

He took her hand, and stood up, "A maze? Yes, that sounds great. Lets go." He smiled as he followed her. Enjoying the beauty of the gardens as he walked through them. A few petals were blown off from their stems as they gently landed in his hair, chuckling a bit he whipped them out. And then out of the corner of his eye he saw a large fountain, which there was a statue of a faery pouring water down into the basin around its feet.

Karei smiled happily, turning on her heel as she headed down the path. She heard him chuckle a bit as they walked and glanced over her shoulder. She laughed softly at the sight of him with petals in his hair. Turning forward she noticed the fountain and her smile grew. As they passed she leaned over a bit, triming her fingers over the surface lightly. Kar looked up from the clear waters, studying the stone fae curiously. ''She's pretty...I wonder who caved this.'' She murmered, more to herself than to him. Blinking, she saw the entrance of the maze from just behind the statue.

Darhin saw it too, "So in here?" He asked, as he walked towards the entrance, running his hand along the edge. He smiled, "Come on, lets check it out!" He shouted entusiastically as he walked inside.

Karei grinned as she picked up the pace and hurried in after him. She bit her lip, finding it difficult to move quickly with the skirts she wore, and took a hold of them with one hand. Once she had lifted her head she couldn't see him and a smirk formed over her lips. She turned down the path and encounted many different paths. Hearing his light footsteps she followed, grinning all the time.

Darhin heard her following behind him, he stopped and let her catch up, as they walked he noticed many different pathways, some long and narrow, others wider. He was radomly chosing which path to do down, but stopped when he saw a dead end. He frowned, they were going to have to back track.
Turning around he saw Karei standing there, holding up her skirt with one hand. This passageway was narrow, and there wasn't enough room for them to walk side by side. So he pressed his back against the wall, and started to work his way out of the path. As he did he accidently bumbed into her. He grabbed her by the shoulders so she wouldn't fall, and appologized, he started to blush a bit. Noticing how close they were. He quickly hid it, and said, "It must be another way. Lets go back and try another exit..."
