"A fortune teller?" Laedra dropped curously down next to Khorren. "Now that would be intersting... they can really predict the furutre?" She thoughtfully mulled over this while chewing on a chesnut, hoping Khorren hadnt noticed her stealing a little bit of her snadwich.
"But..." she said, "Would you really want to know what was going to happen to you in the future?" She hesitated. "I think i'd rather wait and see for myslef. I defiantely wouldnt want alyone else o know what was going to happen!"

Khorren giggled. That hadn't occurred to her. Maybe it would be best not to see the fortune teller. She flicked her fringe out of her face with a gloved hand and sighed deeply, thinking. "Well, it would be a shame not to do something while we're here.. maybe we could buy something?" Khorren's eyes darted to a stall she had seen earlier. The stall had an open and a covered, tent area and, from the looks of the open area, the stall sold birds, mice and other small animals.

Rose welcomed the noise of the market, and memories of her childhood flooded back to her. Running alongside the stalls barefoot, eyes wide with excitement, standing one tiptoes to see what was being sold. She slid from Whispers saddle, cursing loudly when the hem of her skirt hooked onto the saddle which hoisted the whole skirt up just above the knee with a loud ripping sound. Dam this dress she thought gritting her teeth So impractical, I can't wait to pick up some lighter dresses when I get home. "Mornin' Miss Rose," said a passing farmer, who she knew well. He had a son about her age, whom she had grown up with. He was carrying a large crate with an assortment of vegetables. "Yer lookin' a bit peaky. Bin fer a dip this mornin'? S'lovely out." She gave up trying to unpick the hem and tugged hard and the material, leaving a majority of it twisted around the saddle. "Yeh, I went for a swim earlier" she replied "It wasn't exactly intended..." "Yer heading home?" he said, cutting her off. She told him about her short stay in the city and he listened politely. "Well, ye say hello to Tan, if ye get the chance. I'm sure he'd love t'see yer. Have a good day Miss" he tapped his hat and strolled off into the market. He soon disappeared into the bustle of people.
Rose carried on through the maze of stalls, blocking her mind when she passed through the animal stalls. If there weren't so many people she would have closed her eyes and walked through. Seeing all the animals. It upset her. She was gratefull when she reached the end of the market. She remounted Whisper again, and cantered towards her house, now only a matter of minutes away.

"Wow, look at all those animals!" Laedra exclaimed, her eyes shining and her breath catching in her chest. The stall had obviously caught Khorren's attention. Made of bright, coloured fabrics and filled with all sorts of small trinkets as well as the smaller animals, Laedra couldn't help but think that her friend had spotted the nicest stall in the vilalge.
Fluttering up, she swooped over to rest outside the tent.

Khorren was sure she had heard a horse just now... but, if it hadn't been a figure of her imagination, it was gone now. She turned back around to face the animal stall. The creatures here seemed far better kept than the others and were most likely bred to be companions rather than meals or working animals. She cast a glance over the outside of the stall. There were elaborately wielded cages everywhere containing rather contented looking animals and a dog lay asleep beside the tent opening.
"Lets go inside!" she suggested, cheerfully.

Laedra happily followed her friend into the tent, the sound of horsehooves fading into the distance. She looked ghleefully at all of the animals, stopping to pet a small squirrel and smiling delightedly as it blinked large, sleepy eyes at her. "It's so cute!" She squealed. She looked pleadingly at the stallowner.
"Is he for sale?" She asked beseechingly. "Khorren! Khorren, you have to come and see him!"

Khorren made her way towards the squirrel, trying hard not to be tempted by the animals looking at her doefully. She looked down at the squirrel and bit her lip. She had a low tolerance for cute. She was quite sure that, if she didn't control herself, she'd buy every animal in the tent. She scritched the squirrel's ear gently. She withdrew her hand quickly, realising she could be there all day if she didn't. She turned and meandered through the tanks of the floor and the cages hanging from the ceiling. She was quite sure she had seen a small dragon in one. She stooped down beside a clump of different sized cages and inspected the animals in them. She wanted something sturdy, that could keep up with her on her travels. Come to think of it, she wasn't entirely sure the army-quarters would allow animals, but she brushed the thought from her mind quickly.

"I'll take him!" Laedra exclaimed, uhggin the small ball of fluff perhaops just a little too hard. "How can I resist such an adorable face?! He'll make the perfect mascot for when I join the army.... How much please?" THe woman looked over a big, red nose at the petit girl, and then put a heavy hand on her sholder, smiling at her. "For you doll," She rasped, "Three bronze pieces." ((I don't know why she called her doll... inspired, I guess!)) Laedra fished about in her pocket. "Um... of course... " She said dolefully. She was going to have to get a job soon... She handed over the money, popping the small creature onto her sholder, and then turned to Khorren. "Hace you decided what you're gonna get yet? When you're done, I'm feeling much much stronger! We can probably head for Calamere! Oh, I really want to see the vastle... and join the army!! So are you done yet, are you?"

Khorren had beeing oggling a creature for some time now. She wasn't entirely sure what it was exactly, and she was quite sure it would cost her alot, but she knew she had to have it. It was black and tortoiseshell and almost kitten-like, but it bore two feathered wings and it's tail was about 3 times the length of a cat's tail. It seemed slightly canine too, though why that was exactly, Khorren didnt know. She'd been watching it intently for a while before Laedra's voice reminded her of where she was.
"Oh.. er.. yes.." she stood up straight, lifting the tiny silver cage with her as she stood, accidentally tipping it slightly causing the creature to tumble into a corner. "Oops, sorry." She turned to the front of the tent and picked her way back through the cages. She put the cage down on a crowded desk. "Could I buy this one please?" she asked, hopefully.
...
Khorren left the tent with the tiny creature still in it's cage.. she wasn't entirely sure it wouldn't fly away. She'd let it out when she managed to hire some sleeping quarters. "I think.." Khorren started, watching the creature, "I think I'll call him .. Kiabu."
(sorry, another half-asleep post ^_^; )

"wow..." Laedra's crystally ((iS that even a word? XD)) eyes stared at the bizarre animal for a moment, and then she nodded to her companion. "He's cute." She said. Picking up her squirrelly creature, she continued, "Say hello to Kiabu! Hm.. I'm going to have to think of a name for this little guy..." Her face broke out into a boyish grin. "I'm sure i'll think of something." She said naughtily.
Flexing her wings, which by now were fully recovered, she scooped up Khorren, and took off. "I'll head for Calamere!" She said. Flapping her wings, she flew quickly upwards and then allowed a strong wind to carry her towards the city, juts a tiny clump of spires in the distance.

((That's okay XD I have alot of my exams coming up so I understand))
Khorren liked to feel the breeze in her hair again, although she wasn't too sure Kiabu liked it. Infact he seemed quite dazed by this sudden take-off and was peering down at the ground below with wide eyes. Khorren followed his gaze, realising quickly that this was not a good idea, she closed her eyes. She couldn't wait to get to Calamere, she had heard passers-by talking about a ball there held by the king and, although she had never been to an event quite so ellaborate as a royal ball, she was looking very forward to it.

Karei glanced around curiously, sea-blue eyes scanning the market as she stood ebtween Arai and Darhin. ''Well....where should we start?'' She asked curiously, tilting her head to one side. It was probably obvious that she hadn't doen anything like this since she was younger.

Darhin pointed to a stand nearby, "That's as good of a spot as any." They both walked towards it, Karei holding onto Arai's rein as he cantered with them. They pulled next to the stall to see a very dirty, farmer, with long unruly hair, a stray hat upon his head and the look of someone who hasn't bathed or shaved for weeks.
Darhin noticed this and slowly started to walk away to try another stall, when the man suddenly got up and wrapped his arm around his shoulders tightly. "Well how da ya all do? Would ya like to see my wares, finest in the entire market, and I ain't bragging neither!" He smiled. The grin was a genuine freindly one, with no hidden agendas or trickery behind it, only it didn't help that he had a few missing teeth. The man told him all the different things he was selling, and every time he tried to tell him he wasn't interested the man would interrupt and begin talking again. Darhin looked over at Karei wtih a pleading expression, as if to ask her to do something.

((ooc: dun make fun of the toothless! some of us did somethign brave to get our teeth knocked out ><;; ok, my mini-rant is over -sweatdrop-)) Karei bit her lip, trying to force back a laugh, though a chuckle did escape her. Seeing Darhin's pleading look she walked up to them and tapped on the man's shoulder. The man stopped and looked at her. ''Sir, I think you have a customer waiting.'' She said with politeness that didn't belong to her, and nodded to a random person near his stall. Thanking her, the man eagerly scurried off. Kar chuckled again, walking up by Darhin. ''C'mon, before someone else jumps ya.'' She said with a smirk.

((OOC: I'll keep that in mind))
Darhin gladly got away from the man and followed Karei through the streets, the roads were full of people, but they managed to weave themselves through the crowd but stopped short of one small store, where there was a very long line of people in front of the door. Looking trough the window he saw that there was only one shopkeeper tending the store. He looked like he needed some help. Turning to Karei he caught her eye and nodded. So they made their way past the crowd of people and into the store.

Karei tied Arai up outside, and stroked his neck. ''Make sure you scare people away before they try and take ya, big guy.'' She said, touching her forehead to his and smirking as she turned and followed Darhin inside. The shopkeeper seemed too busy to notice them for a moment. She blinked and walked over. ''Um...hello?'' She greeted unsurely. The man whirled around, startled, then relaxed. ''Yea? what'd you wan'?'' He asked gruffly. How sweet... Kar thought flaltly, resisting the urge to snap back at him, but remained still and silent, allowing Darhin to answer.

Darhin was annoyed at his attitude to, but he figured that he was having a rough day. He wouldn't have liked to work with these people. He stepped up toward the man showing him the muscles he had formed after years of hard labor, "My friend and I would like to work here if you don't mind, we'll work real hard, honest." At those words the man's face visiably relaxed, and relief flooded his face.
"Good, you girl stand behind the counter with me, you lad go to that line and ask them to break up into two groups, the people on the streets are probably having trouble moving!"

Karei opened her mouth to say something in response, then quickly snapped her jaw shut and sighed. She rubbed the back of her neck as she walked over to behind the counter. Kar glanced down at the man, who was a couple inches shorter than her, and titled her head to one side ''What do ya need me to do?'' She asked calmly. She heard Arai squeal outside and looked through the door. She noticed a man scrambling away from the best and shook her head. Glad that horse can take care of himself....

Darhin was now telling the line to split up into two seperate lines, that didn't go to well, not to well at all. People started complaining, and agruing, mostly those who were at the front and then was moved near the back in the other line. However Darhin managed to get it under control with a bit of authority and some fairnes. While he was doing this he heard Karei talking to the shopkeeper, what it was about he didn't know. He was too ocupied at the time. Once he had made two lines, one infront of the man and the other in front Karei, he walked over to the man, "So what now?" "You go ahead and take that broom, and work cleaning this dump up, you lass, will stay here with me, its easy really, just take the money and then give them what they want." He didn't say any more as he went to work with the neck customer.
