Here gather farmers from around Elidwen to sell their goods. From pigs to sheep to apples to rhubarb, anything and everything they have in excess they bring here to sell for as much as they can. The stench here is not so good, as not everything brought here is cleaned first. But the farmers seem to enjoy the banter of buying and selling, and so everything runs smoothly.

Laedra plummeted down to land lightly behind an old piece of cloth that had been out up around a horse boc. She put Khorren gently down and then rushed over to quiet the frightened horse. This wasn't an ideal landing spot, but at least from here they could either buysome food, or make inquirires about any local inns.
"Are you OK?" She asked her friend, slightly worried about the effect her sudden landing may have had on her.

Khorren wandered about, not quite sure where to place her feet. She felt a little dizzy and confused, but the feeling soon wore off. "Awesome...." she mumbled, blowing her stray fringe from her face and smiling brightly at Laedra and the horses. She looked about, still beaming. "Wow, look at all the stools." She eyed up the stools and their laden, noticing a few eyes on them as she did so. People had obviously noticed the strange pair landing.. but didn't seem to bothered. Khorren looked at the closest stool which seemed to be auctioning piglets, calves and chicks. She could feel her eyes watering a little at the prospect of buying one.

"Oh..." She suddenly scowled as she followed Khorren's eyeline and turned to see all sorts of young farmyard animals tied up and ready to be auctioned off. A stormy frown hovered over her forehead, and she turned flashing eyes to Khorren. The little Raeyn was prone to mood swings, and seeing the animals practically choking on their neckcollars infuriated her. "Look at them" She hissed. "How can they keep them cooped up like that? What are we going to do?!"
Sweeping some stray strands of hay from her arms, she rolled up her sleeves and stood with her arms crossed. Although this was making er mad, she had n idea what she could do about it. Khorren looked more practical than Laedra, and she hoped that she would have some inkling of an idea, or, at least, could calm her down a little.

Khorren turned and smiled. "I used to think that when I first went to a farm market... but you see, it's much safer for the animals to be auctioned off than it is to set them loose... they get eaten by wolves otherwise.." Khorren's eyes glazed over for an instant. She shuddered and looked around again. "I'd buy them all if I had the money." She pushed her hand into her pocket and took out a handful of silver pieces, and several gold coins. "But maybe we could buy one?" she said, counting the money in her hand and wondering if she had enough for food and an animal.

ooc: I hope you don't mind me joining... Cien laughed as Puru-puru bounced up and down, excited by the new smells around it. "Alright. We'll go and look for your favourite." Riceballs. It had been the first thing Cien had fed it when she had found it, thinking that Puru-puru had looked hungry. Now at least she knew that it was hungry most of the time... She tucked it safely in her pocket to keep it from getting lost. As she was doing so, she saw something out of the corner of her eye. Something- Cien's eyes widened. A Raeyn? Puru-puru squirmed, surprised that Cien had paused unreasonably in the act of confining it to her pocket. She snapped out of her reverie and tucked it in securely before putting on an eyeglass. Walking over, she smiled. "If so, which one would you buy?"

Khorren turned and saw a girl before her. "I really have no clue..." she said, smiling awkwardly. She had never been too good with choices. "Something hardy... that wouldn't mind danger... like ... like a dog or a cat.... or a .. goat..?" Khorren looked around again. Maybe there was something special around? A rare creature. That was the sort of thing she liked.

Cien smiled thoughtfully. "What about a wyvern?" Her eyeglass glinted in the sunlight as she looked up. "I hear that they are very loyal and protective, besides being a bit playful. I'm not very sure if there are any here though..."

The Raeyn wriggled nosily over to see who Khorren was talking to. "Who's that?" She asked, moving over in front of the girl and staring her in the eyes. "What's that in your pocket?" She asked the girl, hovering just in front of her. The animals in oens forgotten, the raeyn turned her purple eyes to look intently at the girl's pocket.
She ran a hand through her messy hair, attempting to tuck the stray strands behind her ears, but failed miserably. Scratching an itch on her nose, she waited for the girl to reply.

"Ah..." Cien hesitated before she took Puru-puru out of her pocket. As expected, it immediately bounced into the air and was in danger of falling painfully onto the ground until Cien caught it with a firm grasp. It squirmed and whimpered pitifully as if imploring Cien to release it. She shook her head and sighed.
"This energetic thing is Puru-puru." It smiled happily at the Raeyn as Cien introduced it.

Laedra's eyes sparkled playfully as she looked at the little pink creature. "Can I... Can I hold it?" She gushed, putting out a finger to touch it. The feathers on her wings ruffled slightly in the breeze, and she flapped them a couple of times to stay afloat. Although she looked as solid as any other human, her bones were strong, but hollow like a birds, making her far, far lighter - light enough to fly.

Cien smiled slowly. "You can... but please keep a firm hold on it-" The moment she loosened her grip, Puru-puru once again leapt into the air. She sighed and undid a pouch hanging on her belt. Taking out a hard biscuit, she held it out to Puru-puru. Immediately it clamped it's furry mouth onto the biscuit and held on, chewing confusedly as the biscuit didn't break off to it's bite. Cien held it out to Laedra. "I'm afraid right now, this is the only way to keep it still. The biscuit will dissolve soon so please hold on to Puru-puru tightly."

Laedra grinned excitedly and took the little anhimal into her hands. Making sure she kept a firm grip on it so that it didn't jump away, she fleww a little way into the air and hoverev there with her legs crossed, resting her hands on her lap. The creature chomped at the bicuit, and Laedra smiled dreamily at it.
"It is adorable," She called down to the girl, "Where did you find it?"
The little pink Puru-puru began to writher about, and so Laedra thought it best to return it to its owner, in case she dropped it. Handing it reluctantly back, she flapped back over to Khorren, and looked imploringly up at her friend. "Can we get something to eat?" She asked, "I'ms o hungry... just something off a stall... please?"

Khorren grinned. She had been hoping they could eat soon. She was sure she could smell fresh baked bread on the air and followed her nose a few paces toward a bread stall. The stall was laden with roasted chestnuts, fresh rolls, different types of cheese and various other homemade foods. Khorren felt drool escape the corner pf her mouth and mopped it quickly with her glove, hoping nobody had seen.
"How about bread and cheese?" she asked, looking at Cien and Laedra.

"Yes!" Laedra cried happily, flinging her arms around the unfortunate Khorren. "Bread and cheese sounds just great".
She looked eagerly at the stall, her eyes wide and shining as they hugrily looked at the foods. "And... and, could we get some chesnuts?" She asked breathlessly, the tantalksing smell of the food making her stomach growl.

Inspecting the coins in her palm, Khorren supposed that she could afford some chesnuts too. She nodded to herself and approached the stall. She asked for a large bag of roasted chestnuts and three cheese sandwiches. She held her stomach to stop it growling.

Laedra focussed her wide eyes on the food Khorren had bought. It looked interesting... Laedra had lived maily on fish, and these foods were strrange to her. But she had eaten chesnuts before, and she loved them! She picked one from the pack, and spent several minutes trying to peel it without burning her fingers.
"They're so delicious" She said through her chesnut.
"So shall we take a look around Elidwen? I mean, that's why we're here, right?"

Cien smiled and thanked Khorren before handing a chestnut to Puru-puru. After a moment of thought, she snatched it away again. Puru-puru whimpered.
"Sorry, it's hot. You might burn yourself," said Cien, cooling it by tossing it in the air. Puru-puru satisfied itself by chewing on a corner of one of the sandwiches. Nodding in response to Laedra's question, Cien wondered aloud,"I've heard there are fortune tellers here. Are they good?"

Khorren, who's sandwich had mysteriously vanished very fast, was thinking. She was sure that Calamere was north of here, but she had no idea how far north. But it wasn't like they were in a hurry, plus she would like to stay and look around a bit. She'd never been to Elidwen before, or any other large town for that matter. "Well, I've never actually seen a fortune teller..." she thought alloud. "Do they cost much?"

Cien shrugged. "I've never been to one before either," she replied with a small smile. It was true to a certain extent anyway. What usually happened, though, was that she had seen through them. Fortune tellers were remarkably smart people, many had at least a minimal amount of psychic ability which enabled them to read through the other person's mind. Picking the most likely thing to draw their 'subject's' attention, they would simply formulate an answer or a statement that would seem reasonable or helpful.
After knowing all that, unfortunately, most fortune tellers would turn her away at first glance.
Cien sighed and rubbed Puru-puru with her thumb. "No, I've never seen a 'real' fortune teller before."
