Her eyes glinted with amusement and she turned one more, her side pressed against his and strong hands gripping the hilt of his sword (over his hand) and holding him still. ''You're better then you let on.'' Kar commented, her amusement showing through ehr voice, too. She thrust her elbow into his stomach and the pulled away, grabbing both her swords.

Darhin gripped his stomach, and watched as she stood up with both swords in hand. He let go of his chest and held onto the hilt of his sword with both hands. He ran at her, swinging his sword at one of her blades, and ducking underneath the other one. He swung his sword around and used the blunt end of it to hit the back of her calves and forcing her fall backwards. He stepped back to give her room to stand up.

Karei let out another laugh as she stood up. She moved quickly, moving one blade at his neck, the ther toward his torso. She knew he would clock, so shifted so that the end of the blade that headed to his torso just skimmed his wrist to see if she could make him drop the sword, nothing serious, a mere flesh wound.

It was enough, but not by the pain, but by the surprise, he felt the sword drop, clattering against the ground. The sword that was heading toward his neck he dodged by ducking swiftly underneath her blade. He rolled, picking up his fallen sword, and standing up once agian. He looked at how she was standing, the positons of her swords. Remembering a old favorite move, feinted to the left, but then attacked in a fluent movement to the right, connecting against both of her swords and sending them flying in opposite directions. Smiling, he rose his sword in a offensive position.

''Well, it seems that I'm not much of a match for you on the ground.'' She said with a sly smile. Kar moved forward the crouched down at the last second, swinging her leg around and knocking him off his feet. She quickly moved to get one of her swords, then dodged to the other. ''Arai, chaege.'' She called out. The stag lifted his head, then bolted forward at her commaned, rushing up. She stood ready, and timed it right, quickly mounting. Arai turned around to face Darhin, bobbing his head slightly with excitment. The stallion obviously knew this was nothing serious and appeared to be having more fun than anything.

Darhin heard the hoofbeats and before he knew it he was fighting Karei on horseback. Dashing out of the way he watched as Arai galloped by. Pushing off against he ground he jumped onto the horse's back, right behind Karei, he pushed her off. And watched as she fell to the ground.

Karei struck the ground and rolled onto her feet. A look of worry came to her features. ''Get off him, now!'' She called out. She wasn't worried about Arai, no. She was more worried about Arai's reaction. And he assumption was correct. Instantly the stallion gave a large back to try and throw Darhin, and when that did work he lunged into a gallop, stopped short, turned and did a sideways buck. Finally he got down and rolled to see if that would get the boy off. By that time Kar had rushed forward, cursing herself for forgetting to put some reigns on the bay stallion.

Darhin flew off Arai with a start, colliding against the ground roughly. He was dazed for a bit. And a few spots of colors flew infront of his face. But when they cleared he saw Karei stading over him looking worried. Sitting up Darhin clutched the side of his head, "Oww, that stung..." He got up shakily, and the area around him snapped back into focus, he looked back at Karei who was now openily scowling at him, "I guess were done with the practice..."

Her scowl faded and she let out a sigh of relief. Arai stood still, watching her wearily as if expecting a harsh strike to come out. ''Sorry, I should of warned you about that. Arai has trust issues....'' She said with another sigh, glaring back at the stallion. At her glare he shied back, snorting and pawing the ground. Kar looked back at Darhin, extending a hand to help him stand up.

His pride told him not to take the hand, but his common sense said a different matter. He took her hand and stood up, once back on his feet he swept the dirt off his pants. He then looked over at Arai and frowned, "You didn't have to throw me off you know, I was going to get off anyways..." He turned to Karei, "So I guess we should head off to Elidwen now."

Karei nodded, picking up her swords and quickly sheathing them. Arai snorted, slowly creeping forward. She ignored him for the moment, picking up the saddle and setting it on Arai's back, then strapping the bags on. ''Go apologize and I might forgive you.'' She murmered to the beast. He snorted, nudging her affectionately. ''Not me, him!'' She said, forcing back a laugh that threatened to come. Arai snorted again, then extended his neck towards Darhin. ((had to throw that in, my horse did that the other day ^^))

((You've got a horse? Cool.))
Darhin outstreched his hand and started to pet Arai's long neck, "Aw, its okay fella, I know you didn't mean it." As if to contradict him the horse snorted loudly. Darhin ignored that and instead turned to Karei, "This is going to be my first time in Elidwen, any idea of where we should stay?"

((yup!)) ''I dunno. It's been three years sicne I've been here. I can barely remember.'' She smiled, taking up the rest of the bags and strapping them up on her back. She tied her swords against her left hip and took Arai's reigns in hand. ''Let's see if we can get there before dawn, hm?'' She said with a smirk.

Darhin nodded and began walking besides her. He had a bit of trouble keeping up with Arai's swift stride, but tried his best no to show it. It was really dark, but the wide fields revealed all, showing that there was nothing in sight for miles. Finally he saw the town in the horizon, "There it is! Come on, lets go!"
((Lets continue this in Elidwen...however lets wait until tomarrow, its late over here.)

Karei chuckled softly. She ran ahead, plling Arai into a trot. ''Well let's hurry! I want a nice bed and some well-cooked food.'' She said with a grin at the thought. Arai kept pace with her easily, practically floating beside her as they hurried to the town. ((mmkay. 'slong as you make the post tomorrow. ^_^))

Karei held Arai's mane in her hand tightly, staring over the field at the small abandoned farmhouse and barn. She sighd softly, rubbing her forehead with ehr free hand lightly. After the battle, Cody's death, Orion's arrival, and the fight she was very very tired. Physically and mentally. Even though she had promised the old man she wouldn't come back, ever, but she really needed to get away. ''C'mon Arai.'' She murmered, gently leading him to the old farmhouse. She didn't go inside, knowing that something would be living inside. She just remained outside the barn, where the old pasture had been. She pulled the bags from Arai's saddle and then untacked the horse, letting him run free. The stallion instantly went off to explore while she settled down near the bags. A heavy sigh escaped her as she looked up at the sky with her sea-blue eyes, watching the sun set. I didn't notice how late it was... she thought with a slight frown. Shruging it off she pulled out the bear skin blanket she kept and wrapped it around herself tightly. With a yawn Kar laid down, her upper back and shoulders leaning against the bags.

Darhin had to make sure his job was still in one peice after being away so long. For such a long time. As he looked on at the building at the last moment he got a change of heart and turned around and ran out towards the fields. He didn't care anymore. His life had changed, he was no longer that farm boy he use to be, and it was useless to pretend to be. Besides, the pay bill was poor there anyways, he always thought so. He had saved up enough as it is. And he could always hunt for food, a quick ice shard through the heart does the trick quite nicely. And he could find work if he needed to. He smiled, liking the idea.
He wandered for a bit. Just taking in the sites, Harind's reigns held firmly in one hand as he glanced over the many forest and the long plains. What the heck? He thought as he mounted Harind and they galloped through the plains. Leaving Calamere behind.
He stumbled across the barn a few days later. And was surprised to see Karei laying there with Arai next to her. He smiled, "Well its nice to see you again." As he mounted off of Harind. Landing next to her.

Karei bolted up right, awake instantly. both swords had been unsheathed in her startlement and pointed at him. She blinked, then smiled sheepishly. ''Oh, hey. Don't do that You scared me.'' She said with a slight laugh, sheathing her weapons again and sitting down. A light sigh escaped her. ''What are you doing out here?''

"Just wandering a bit I suppose, I just didn't feel all that content in Calamere anymore you know?" He asked, sure that she understood. He bent down on the ground, "I didn't mean to disturb you...hey, are you hungry? I've got some food in the sack on Harinds back, feel free to take some."

Karei smiled brightly at the question, sitting up. ''Starved. I forgot to eat today.'' She grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck. ''So you left Calamere? Well, I do remember you saying something about seeing what the world has to offer.'' She smirked, glancing back as Arai slept on. Poor guy. He must be exhausted.
