"I don't know..." He muttered truthfully, as he sighed and looked up towards the sky, he turned his gaze back towards her, and silently grabbed her hand, to get her attention, "But I'm sure we'll be fine, I know I will be as long as I am with you." He bent over and kissed her softly, he broke off and said, "We should get some rest, its been a long day."

Kar nodded and smiled, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. ''I'm kind of worried about Cody....'' She murmered as her eyes began to close. It sounded odd, yes. He had died so why worry? Really she was worried because she felt like she was betraying him in a way. Cody had said he loved her, and it was bad enough to not feel the same way about him. The thoughts left her mind soon enough as she fell asleep.

Darhin stared at her in confusion, what did she mean she was worried about Cody? He suddenly felt a jab of jealousy for his deceased friend. But pushed it away, very ashamaed of himself. He was feeling jealous of someone who doesn't live anymore? He sighed clearing his mind on the matter as he drifted off to sleep.

Karei awoke the next morning, feeling a sharp nudge on her shoulder. She groaned, trying to push the muzzle away. Within seconds she felt a sharp pang of pain and bolted upright, cursing. ''Arai...'' She hissed threateningly, glaring at the stud who quickly pranced out of the way. He snorted, tossing his head and pawing at the ground restlessly. With another groan Kar fell back onto the ground, burying her face against her arm. ''I'll feed you in a minute...'' Her muffled voice sounded drowsily. After a quick moment she got up and quickly cut up some fruits and vegetables, setting them in a bowl and pushing them to Arai. The bay instantly lowered his head, eating his breakfast eagerly. With a soft sigh Kar began to cut up some for Harind, too.

Darhin awoke the next morning to see Karei beginning to feed Harind, "You don't have to do that. I'll do it." He got up and took some food he had kept in the pouch on Harind's side feeding it to him. As he was doing this memories came flooding back. He suddenly felt unsure of how to act around Karei. He decided not to comment on it for now and instead took out some carrots out of the pouch. He handed them to Arai even though he knew the horse had already eatten, "There you go, just like I promised."

Karei smiled, watching him and Arai. She stood up, dustin herself off lightly. ''Should we go into Elidwen?'' She asked, walking over to them. One hand reached up, gently rubbing Arai. Once he finished the carrots he turned his head and nudged her stomach lightly. She chuckled, rubbing her fingers around his ears and on his forehead.

"Sounds good to me." He said as he mounted Harind. They were traveling for a while when he asked, "The same inn as last time?" he said referring to the last time they were in Elidwen which ended with them chasing after a mind-mage who had stolen a powerful Amulet. Which he was still wearing right now...because he wasn't sure what to do with it...and hadn't a chance to give it to the king...

Karei smiled and nodded. ''Yea. I have enough money now.'' She replied. ''That reminds me, what ever happened to that amulet?'' Kar turned to him, head tilted to one side curiously. She still wondered about why he had acted so strange, but didn't ask just yet.

Darhin hesitated slightly, not that he didn't trust her. But he knew if he told her that he had it that any mind-mage had just come by and know of the Amulet. He knew it was very valuable by the letter he read. He can't let it fall into Thern's hands...yet...he didn't want to lie to her either...he was safe from anyone reading his thoughts because of his mind shield. Wait! That's it. He could do both. He could tell her, and then teach her how to make a mind shield to shield one's thoughts from a mind-mage. Also it meant he could spend some more time with her..."I still have it," he said as he reached into his tunic and pulled it out, showing her its features.

Karei blinked curiously, looking at the amulet. She seemed a bit surprised, though wasn't sure why. She noticed his hesitation and blinked curiously. ''I won't pry.'' She said with a smirk, chuckling as she continued to rub Arai soothingly. The stud's lids grew heavy as he relaxed more, his neck lowered.

Darhin replaced the Amulet underneath his tunic, as they continued to ride. "Hey Karei, remember our fight with that mind-mage, and how during it, he seemed to have stoped moving, and was struggling a bit? At that time he was assaulting my mind, trying to find out who I am, and what my strengths were in battle. But I managed to stop him. It was a technique I learned back in Thern, but in fact it involves no magic whatsoever, and I was thinking, if you want...I could teach it to you..." He said as they continued their walk down towards the fields, the outline of Elidwen just visable.

''Mind barriers?'' She assumed, arching a brow at him. ''I can do that...though not very well.'' Kar replied, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. ''Just focus on something very hard so no one can get pass it, am I right or even close?''

He laughed, "Sort of, but your in the very early stages of it. Any talent mind-mage could tear the shield down in seconds, the concentrating on something else is what you must do to clear your mind of distractions, let nothing else in. It is after that the final stages of it come in. After you focus on that one thing, and only that one thing, you have to drop it, ignore it, and leave your mind totally and completely blank. Then you have to visibly imagine a wall, inside your mind, you need to constantly strengthen it. Thinking only of that. Making it stronger and more able to withstand attacks. If your opponent gets through it, then he will be able to sense and read your thoughts." He explained as they neared the town of Elidwen. They were near the town's limits right now.
((Want to continue this in Elidwen?))

((ooc: sure. your turn ^^)) Karei listened through most of it, though got lost near the end. ''Why not go through this a bit more slowly?'' She asked with a sheepish smile, a soft chuckle escaping her.

"Sure, we can talk about it more later. Oh, here we are." He said as they neared Elidwen, he dismounted Harind, grabbing him by the reigns as they walked through the streets.
