Karei glared through the wall, watching as the arrows struck the ice. She turned, quickly pulling their bags up on Arai's saddle. She didn't bother with the deer carcasses, since they would only slow them down. Instantly she mounted her horse, turning to Darhin. ''Can you make an exit?'' She asked, steadying her steed.

He nodded his head, his eyes concentrating on the trees before him. He rose his hand, watching as the blue glow encompassed it, he created a small thin layer of ice, as flat as a blanket, that hovered before the ground, it darted past, directly forward, and cut into the trees along the way, having them topple over. He spurred Harind on and followed the newly created path.

Tyrael watched through the ice as the two began to retreat. Perfect. Plan perfect. They would be smart to warn the king. He was about to tear down a pathway to the kingdom with his marching army of unstoppable Brutes.

Karei turned Arai down, racing after Harind and Darhin swiftly. After moments she realized no pursuet and glanced behind her. ''We're not being followed. We can walk now.'' She called out, slowling Arai from a gallop, to a steady canter, to a trot, and finally a walk. He transmitted a bit to suddenly, throwing her off balance and agaisnt his neck. She sighed, rubbing her shoulder a bit and manuevered arai up next to Harind. ''You alright?'' She asked, hiding the spike of anger that remained. Not at Darhin, more at the man, his Brutes, and a bit at herself. I join in one battle...ONE small battle and now I suddenly have a handful of enemies and their armies. I should have stayed out of it but NO. I had to have morals. She fumed mentally, though remained relatively calm on the outside.

Darhin could tell that she was pissed. Maybe not from her facial expression or body language, but he could just sort of sense it. Also her eyes were practically shinning with its intense frustration. However he decided it was best not to comment on it and instead replied to her question, "Yes, I'm fine," He then realized that he still had a few arrows in him. He stopped Harind, and began to pull those arrows out, wincing as he did so. "Uh...do you have any herbs for these?" He asked pointing to the wounds.

Karei nodded, still swearing heavily in her mind. ''Yea. Let's stop here to dress our wounds.'' She said, sliding off of Arai and pulling out a small sack. ''Well there goes breakfast. And lunch. Guess we'll just have to settle for dinner.'' She murmered with a half smile, letting Arai stand and rest now.

"Thanks," He muttered, before looking at her again, "But what about you? Are you alright?" from where he now stood he couldn't tell if she had any wounds or not. He sat on the ground, taking the herbs she got out from the small sack, ready to apply them to his wounds.

Karei smiled and nodded. ''Just a couple of minor flesh wounds. Don't worry.'' She replied with a shrug. The wounds, mostly caused by arrows, were on her back and side so she was able to hide them well. Just need a new tunic. Kar thought, standing up. ''I'm gonna go find some water.'' She said, walking out to where she thought she heard a river or stream.

"Okay," He said as he watched her walk off, "Be careful." He sat down on the ground, taking the herbs and started applying them to his wounds. He knew how to do it, for it was information he had to know in order to take care of the horses in the stables...but...jeesh, it stung! He never knew how much the feeling of the herbs pressed against your skin smarted, he'll remember that next time he used it to help one of his horses...

Kar raised one hand to let him know she heard and disappeared into the forest. Kneeling down by a stream she refilled the canteen and splashed some water onto her face. After a couple minutes she walked back to where Darhin and hte horses were and sat down. ''Here.'' She said, holding out the canteen.

"Thanks" He said, truly grateful for the water. He took the canteen and drank his full, handing it back to her. He stood up and streched his legs, looking about. He then sighed, "Come on, I suppose we should continue on, we have to be sure we lose them...wait a sec! The food! How much of it do we have left?" He asked, afraid they might have left a deer corpse or two behind.

''We only have two deer. If the horses carried any more both would have collapsed. then a small sack full of fruits and vegetables. That's it. Just enough for tonight and tomorrow.'' Kar said, quickly checking before sitting down with a sigh. ''Let's just rest for now and worry about food and money tomorrow. We have enough for now.''

"Sounds good to me," Darhin said, as he mounted Harind. It was really a shame though, why couldn't that man showed up at another time, or better yet, never have shown up at all. He completely ruined their hunt...

Karei mounted Arai, making sure her bags were secure on the saddle. ''Nightfall already...'' She commented, glancing up at the sky as they walked. She sighed, patting Arai softly. ''Let's hurry and make camp. Who knows what other bastards are lurking around.'' Kar added with a scowl, a small spike of anger rising before settling again.

"Alright, but lets just get away from this area first, the farther we are from that place the better." He winced slight, his shoulder still ached where the arrow struck it, but he tried to hide his discomfort, he didn't want Karei to worry about it, he could handle it fine on his own.

Karei nodded in agreement. ''Sounds like a good idea.'' She replied, sighing softly. She leaned against Arai's neck gently, running her hand up and down nis neck gently.

(Your muse left you didn't it? Sorry, had to ask)
After that it was quiet for a bit, as they made their way through the forest, they waited a bit before they stopped, making sure to traveled far away from were the accounter took place. They finally found a small clearing by a stream, he sat down by it and cupped some water to his mouth, before collasping in a heap next to Harind. He laughed as he laid down on the ground, relieved to finally be away from that man and his army.

((ooc: ha-ha-ha. very funny -_- xP and sadly, yes. I worked today and a lot of brats cam ein so I am very tired >< spoiled babies.)) Karei watched him then slid off Arai, letting her horse rest. She yawned, collpasing on the ground and rubbing her forehead. It was obvious that she, too, was grateful that they wwere away fromt hose Brutes.

"I suppose we should eat one of those deers," He knew it was already way past dinner time, but he was too hungry to care. Getting up he moved over towards Arai, and took one off his back, he then set out to make a fire, but hesitated, what if the Brutes saw the smoke from the fire? But they couldn't just eat it uncooked, could they? He explained the situation to Karei, asking for her advice.
(Spoiled brats huh? Do you babysit or are you just having friends over who brought thier annoying kids?)

((ooc: Neither. I work at this fitness program and a lot of parents go so they put up a nursery for their kids and guess who watches 'em. Me (and a few other people...). XD and my reply button doesn't like me now -_-)) Karei nodded and smirked. She grabbed out her bear skin blanket and the stood up. She carefully tied it up between four thin trees then built a very small fire. The smoke rose, already a bit thin, and the blanket spread it to make it thinner, barely noticable now. ''They would only see it if they were close.'' Kar said with a slight smile. ''Plus there's a warm blanket for the night.''
