Darhin looked at it, "Clever," He smirked eyeing now the barely visable trail of smoke, he made his way towards the fire and threw a deer in, he watched as it began to heat, cooking the meat nicely. Once he thought it was done, he pulled it out and gave a bit of meat to Karei, and started eating in silence.

Karei took the meat and ate it slwoly, leaning back against Arai's barrel as he laid behind her. She yawned a bit and shook her head, trying to clear her mind some.

The meat was good, a very refreshing after that encounter, Darhin knew he now had scars that would never completely fade. It was a chilly night, one of those nights where there were no stars in sight and the world seemed very empty and cold, he felt his eyelids droop slightly. He was very tired, he planned after he finished this meal to go straight to bed.

Kar stretched, yawning a bit as she did so. She had eaten her share and set out some food for the horses, then put out the fire. ''Here.'' She murmered, tossing him the blanket. Karei curled up by Arai, just behind his front legs with her head lying against his shoulder.

Darhin grabbed the blanket, and curled it around his body, saying good night to Karei, he tried to fall asleep, but however hearing Harind's snorts not to far away, and with the memories of the last battle, he had a bit of difficulty, but finally managed to drift to sleep.

Karei had falen asleep long ebfore him. She didn't have any nightmares, nor any dreams for that matter. No, it seemed she only had nightmares whenever she took a life or soemthing terrible happened to her. Arai laid his head back, now falling asleep. ((ooc: eh, you skip to morning. can't think >< I had to dig up the rest of my muse to make my plot-posts and those were pathetic T-T))

Darhin woke up early the next morning, he strechted out a bit, rubbing his tired eyes. That was probably the most uncomfortable nights he had ever slept, worse of all he didn't have time to practice before he went to sleep. What a shame. He found Harind nearby, grazing a bit some grass, and decided to go off and hunt, and come back with some breakfast, as a surprise for Karei when she woke up.

Karei awoke later in the morning, near midday really. She noticed Darhin and his steed were gone and blinked in surprise. ''I wonder where he went off to...'' She muttered, then stood up and yawned. It wasn't very long before she heard Harinds approaching hoofs.

Darhin was very satisfied with himself, he had a very good catch, two birds, three rabits and what seemed to be a fox, he couldn't really tell, it was dead when he had found it, it was what the birds were picking at. He dropped them all on the ground, and started the fire, grinning when he saw Karei, "So what do you feel like eating, bird, rabbit or fox, or maybe a mixture of all?" He laughed, feeling in a good mood.

Karei watched him, then smiled and chuckled a bit. ''A mixture of all sounds good.'' She said with a smirk, sitting across from him by the fire.

He threw a rabbit, a bird and the fox into the fire, watching as they burned, he sighed, happy as he lent back against the ground. It was a tiring day yesterday, but he felt relieved and relaxed now, not to mention hungry! The affects of the battle were finally wearing off.

''You seem to be feeling better.'' Kar commented with a smirk, watching him curiously.

"Yeah, also helped that I wore the Amulet, when I woke up this morning all the wounds were gone, scars and all." He said as he pulled out the food, he handed some over to Karei, and started eating himself.

Kar nodded, taking a bite of the food. She paused, just realising she had forgotten to tend to her own wounds. Oops... she thought, chewing on her food thoughtfully. I'll deal with it after rbreakfast.

Darhin couldn't help but notice that she was still in pain, for everytime she moved to eat, she would wince slightly, but it was obvious she was trying to hide it. He thought of an idea and took the Amulet off his neck handing it to her, "Here, put it on." He said, smiling.

Kar blinked, taking the amulet and slipping on. For a moment it felt like nothing was happening, then she felt the pain slowly ease away. ''Effective.'' She said with a smirk.

He smirked to, however it faded, "I still don't know what to do with that thing...I thought about giving it to the King but I haven't been to Calamere since the Battle in Forai." He sighed, getting up and standing behind her, gently taking the Amulet off and slipping it back on his neck, "I guess that will be the first thing I do when I go back to Calamere." He stated.

Karei nodded. ''That would be the smartest thing to do. I wonder if the King knows about Cody's death....'' Her voice trailed off, rememberingCody's last visit to her when she was by the ocean. It had happened only a few days after her and Darhin admitted their feelings and she couldn't realy stop thinking about it.

"No, I don't think he does." He muttered sitting down on the ground, "If you haven't told him, and I haven't then theres little chance that he knows..." He didn't like thinking about Cody's death, and he didn't like talking about it much either. He was hurt by his friend's sudden death, and he really wished he could have been there to help him, to save him somehow...

Karei merely nodded in response and she felt a heavy silence take place. She wasn't really sure what to say so remained quiet, watching Arai as he grazed peacefully near the stream.
